BYU Vocal Point released a moving cover of Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” interpretation, along with a video that’s now been viewed over 10 million times.

The video features the all-male ensemble singing the tune with stunning scenery as their backdrop. According to their YouTube channel, it was filmed in both Utah and Oregon, and directed by McKay Crockett.

It begins with a sole member, Jantzen Dalley, singing the opening lyrics to “You Raise Me Up.” Soon though, two other vocalists join him and the sound is breathtaking.

One viewer commented online:

“Halfway through the first sentence, I was tearing up instantly :$ This is so beautiful! ❤”

All nine members of Vocal Point contribute their talents when they reach the chorus. There’s even a beatboxer who adds a special touch to their a cappella version.

Get ready for chills during the lyrics:

“You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong…when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be”

The video is a perfect blend of a powerful song and exceptional singers – all mixed with the beauty of nature.

“You Raise Me Up” was originally composed by Rolf Lovland of Secret Garden, with lyrics by Brendan Graham. The Irish-Norwegian duo recorded the first version with singer Brian Kennedy.

However, Josh Groban’s 2003 rendition found great success in the U.S. “You Raise Me Up” has been covered over 125 times by different artists (a number that continues to grow).

Just when you think it couldn’t get any more heavenly – it does.

The music ensemble eventually merges together with additional singers. Soon, they have a combined group of dozens of males and females standing among the greenery, belting out “You Raise Me Up.” They’re like a choir of angels.
