We were all once hooked to the intricate story with epic sword fighting, along with gigantic fire-breathing dragons in one drama series.
We’re talking about Game of Thrones, the epic medieval story that unfolds in the land of Westeros, where everything you would less expect happens. However, one of the most unforgettable things about the series is its cool theme song.
Despite the fact that it only gets played during the title sequence, it became unbelievably famous.
In fact, the tune is so addictive that we always imagine it playing in our heads when we talk about the series.
Small-time musicians to large-scale orchestras have tried to replicate this iconic tune.
For example, take this unique busking band who gave their cover of the song while on the Galway streets.
The Harp, The Accordion and The Ugly is what they call their band.
They are composed of seven members, each playing a different instrument. Aside from that, each member comes from a different country. Annie Chambers, the harpist, is from England.
Meanwhile, the accordion player Luca Verga is from Italy, as well as the classical guitarist, Luca Brembilla.
Dylan Gully on the clarinet was originally from France and the percussionist Moises Mas is from Spain.
Lastly, Juliana Erkonnen is a violinist from Finland.
The seventh member was a double bass player but apparently, he was not present in this video.
These buskers filled the cold streets of Galway with their music.
It was a cold day on Shop Street in Galway, and it seemed like the rain just stopped when a bunch of musicians assembled on the side.
They each held different instruments, including a harp and a classical guitar.
People were just passing by them to escape the cold but not until they heard the vibrant tune from the harp strings.
Young or old, everyone was attracted to the medieval-themed song.
As this video shows, the band brought a new angle to a familiar song.
The original tune of the theme song was a bit dark, and you can just imagine the burning battlefield with factions crossing swords with each other.
However, this busking band managed to give the song a lighter and colorful feeling as if they were a bunch of bards serenading the townsfolks in olden times.
It’s the type of vibe that can get you up on your feet and dancing!
Even in the video, you can see a little kid who starts tap dancing as he listened to them perform the song. The harmonies on their instruments were so satisfying to hear that you cannot help but get drawn to every bit of it.
This band received a lot of love from the internet for their gorgeous cover.
The people on that street were surely impressed by their amazing performance but the band also acquired quite an audience on the web.
One of the members shared the whole recorded performance on YouTube and garnered over two million views.
What made the video even more amazing was the fact that it was professionally filmed, giving it a perfect cinematic atmosphere that fits the theme.
The great thing about them was that the fact that the one thing that brought them together was their shared passion for music.
If you want to see more of their covers, you could find them on Facebook and YouTube!
