Although many of them are quite talented, it’s also pretty easy to tune them out after a while—after all, people who live in the city are busy and need to get where they’re going. As such, buskers need to have something particularly unique or compelling about them to truly stand out.

Fortunately, the performer in this video found a way to do just that.

The clip we’re talking about today was posted online in January 2018.

As it begins, the camera pans to Flanderz on the street corner as a loud bus passes by. Sure enough, he is decked out with a helmet, an accordion, a cymbal on his head and a strange boa around his neck.

After waiting for the bus to pass, he starts into a rousing performance of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper. Although the original performance is slower and led by a synth-section, this one is an upbeat polka song with a stomping rhythm and a vocoder.

Although it sounds strange, the performance quickly attracts a dancing crowd!

By the time he gets through the first chorus, he’s hitting the cymbal and the entire crowd is dancing around him!

Although the music is a bit strange, there’s no denying that Flanderz has plenty of talent to play so many different instruments at the same time while dancing around, singing and entertaining the whole crowd.

As it turns out, Flanderz has a YouTube channel with nearly 29,000 subscribers!

In another popular video, he brings his skills to an even larger crowd. After using some gaffer tape to fix up his instruments, he starts into a polka version of the Ghostbusters theme song—which is just as bizarre as it sounds!

Even so, he pulls it off with just as much panache as the first one. And in this one, he even gets the crowd to join singing the call and response.

Needless to say, Flanderz is a fearless performer.
