The Cranberries are an Irish alternative rock band who got famous for their protest song “Zombie.”

The song was released in 1994, as the lead single from the band’s second studio album “Ne Need To Argue.” Its lyrics make it one of the angriest tracks ever written, although the Cranberries singers explained that it was written for purely humanitarian purposes.

Since the words on the track apply to all times when innocent people are being harmed in wars and conflicts, plenty of people still remember it today. As it turns out, a street busker sang his own nostalgic version of it in the middle of Stockholm.

Dave Stewart is an excellent performer.

The man you see on a corner of the street in Drottningattan, Stockholm is a talented man, but don’t get him confused with English musician, singer and record producer Dave Stewart.

The Dave we are seeing now is a simple man whose YouTube channel is full of amazing covers you should definitely check out. “Fields of Gold,” “Wind of Change” and “Cannonball” are some of the incredibly demanding songs he performs like a pro.

A gentleman like him can offer a lot to the world of music, and his incognito busking show we see here only proves how true this is.

As this clip shows, it’s not about having a flashy stage or good marketing—a golden voice will always attract an audience. When a talented man grabs his guitar, we can’t help but listen to him!

It’s a simple reminder of everything good and bad in society.

Bad things happen every day, but there are always good people who call attention to the world’s wrongs through their art. The original song was written in memory of two young victims who lost life in a bombing in Warrington.

Those two boys were only three and 12 years old at the time. You can see from the performer in the video that he is sad and tormented about many similar occurring in the world, and so he sings from the bottom of his soul.

It’s funny how the street is decorated—the video was uploaded in January 2015, and you can feel the holiday spirit.

Even though people seem distanced, cold and in a hurry, this performance adds a little bit of warmth to the evening.

“Zombie” won the “Best Song” award at the 1995 Europe Music Awards.

As of April 2020, the tune’s been streamed 472 million times on Spotify—so it’s clearly still inspiring people today. For more evidence of that, just check out this performance as once example! Though it might go without saying, we would love to see more entertainment like this in the world— pure, spontaneous, simple and with fewer effects. It’s extraordinary just the way it is.
