Every once in a while, you run into a street performer who absolutely blows you away with their talents. That’s exactly what happened for these passersby when this gifted busker took to the streets of Argentina and played a famous Michael Jackson song as you’ve never heard it before.
He totally shreds on the guitar!
This Argentinian street busker plays “Beat It” by Michael Jackson and has people watching amazed.
Damian Salazar is an Argentinian musician who has made quite the name for himself on social media. The guitar prodigy has almost 300,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel where he posts phenomenal performances on the regular.
At the beginning of the video, Salazar throws on the rhythm to “Beat It” and immediately starts playing the famous chords from the hit song.
Right from the get-go you can tell he’s a genius on the guitar.
Salazar goes through the complicated riffs in “Beat It” with ease! Watching him play is seriously mesmerizing, he bought his first guitar when he was just 12 years old and from there the rest was history. Salazar made his claim to internet fame by playing popular guitar solos like “Sultans of Swing,” “Beat It,” and many others on the streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
“Beat It” by Michael Jackson featured Eddie Van Halen, who tears an incredible solo that’s hard for most musicians to follow.
Not if you’re Damian Salazar, he jumps right into the Van Halen solo nailing it perfectly.
Not only does Salazar play Van Halen’s part flawlessly, but he also adds his own little twists into the solo.
He does a wonderful job adding his own flair to the legendary solo, a solo that many people forget to give Van Halen credit for when talking about “Beat It.” The intricate guitar solo helped make “Beat It” the huge success that it was, and the song still remains one of the best-selling singles in music history.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Salazar goes off on a tangent of electric sounds that he creates by swiftly presses his fingers down rapidly and bending the strings back and forth.
The entire way through Salazar barely lets up, and toward the end of the performance, he lets out a barrage of energetic notes for an epic finale.
Eddie Van Halen would definitely be proud of this cover performance, it’s hard to believe that this kid can even play like this. Who knew a random guitarist for Argentina could give an icon a run for his money! But that’s exactly what he does.
It wasn’t easy for Salazar to get hear, his father died when he was just a boy and he taught himself how to play guitar on an instrument he made out of scrap material.
Fans on the internet always lose their minds when Salazar shares his gift, and this video from 2015 is no exception.
Salazar performing “Beat It” has been viewed over 4.7 million times, with 60,000 people liking it.
Thousands of music lovers from all around the world also left comments for the mind-boggling guitarist, many in disbelief at his raw talent.
It’s easy to see why so many people are entranced by Damian Salazar, his ridiculous guitar skills and inspiring back story make him someone that deserves every ounce of credit.
