Our favorite performers provide us the gift of music year-round (and for that we’re grateful). Yet, during Michael Bublé’s Christmas special, he wanted to give his fans an extra-special present.

The NBC event called, Michael Bublé’s Christmas in New York, was scheduled to be a musical collaboration in celebration of the holiday, with a variety of female artists on the performance guest list.

At one point, Bublé addressed the crowd at Radio City Music Hall to announce that he had the “perfect present” for them.

The Grammy Award-winning singer joked:

“It’s not easy shopping for ten million people and I didn’t want to have to wrap ten million gifts either. I think I came up with something that’s perfect…”

Bublé did indeed have an amazing gift up his sleeve. He continued:

“Ladies and Gentlemen, for Christmas this year I give you the greatest there ever was, the greatest that is, and the greatest there ever will be. Please welcome, the one and only Miss Barbra Streisand.”

Earlier that year, a duet from the pair had been released on Streisand’s album, Partners. Together they had sung a rendition of the classic, “It Had to Be You.”

During the NBC Christmas special, Bublé and Streisand gave the crowd a live performance duet. The results were completely magical.

With twinkling lights in the background, the legendary artist, Streisand, began with a Christmas spin on “It Had To Be You.”

Moments later Bublé took over with his rich vocals that combine with the holiday like coffee and cream.

In fact, Michael Bublé released an album simply titled, Christmas, where he sang versions of all the classics. According to Billboard, as of 2019, there have been 4.3 million copies sold in the United States alone – resulting in Christmas being his “highest-selling album.”

Bublé and Streisand’s duet on stage during the Christmas special is one that’s won over the internet. As of now, the video below has more than eight million views and counting.

The duo’s voices match up beautifully singing the famous tune that was released in 1924. The music to “It Had to Be You” was created by Isham Jones and the lyrics were written by Gus Kahn. Since then, it’s been covered by many soulful artists over the years like Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett.

But just wait until you hear how incredible Bublé and Streisand’s rendition is…

The audience truly did receive a beautiful gift that evening, from two artists that have made their marks in the music industry. Streisand, of course, has a history that’s quite a bit longer.

Before the NBC special even took place, Bublé shared on his website how excited he was about the event. He commented:

“I could not be more excited to celebrate the Christmas holidays in New York with such a fantastic array of talented women.”

Along with Barbra Streisand, the show also featured the Rockettes, Ariana Grande, and even Miss Piggy.
