Well well well, if it isn’t the king of charm at it again. This time however, Michael Bublé has an equally radiant cohort. In this performance he is joined by vocal acrobat and international superstar Ariana Grande. Together the pair perform a duet of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, and boy is it a blast! Between Bublé’s effortless crooning charm and Ariana’s ability to dance around a melody like it’s a may-pole, their performance is truly spectacular.
You just want to pinch both of their cheeks!
Right at the top, Bublé introduces the song with Ariana
“So , what we wanna do for you right now, is what we think is a pretty stellar rendition of Santi Clause is Coming to Town. You ready!?”
Oh yeah Mike, we’re ready. And yes, he does say Santi Clause, that is not a typo. Oh Mikey, never change.
Then they kick into the song, and it is magical. It’s still the big-band style song you’d expect to hear Bublé sing, but having Ariana Grande there in the mix is an extra treat. It is interesting to hear her distinctive and sweet voice outside of the context of the poppy backing she normally sings to. She manages to fit well into the style however, while maintaining her distinctive Grande sound.
It’s a match made in heaven!
The fans watching the video seem to be charmed by the duet, and in particular with the croontastic Bublé.

Well, Maeve is not wrong! There’s something about Michael Bublés smooth, warm voice that does just sound like Christmas. It’s the legacy he inherited from his festive singing forebears such as Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.
When Ariana takes the lead, she is mesmerizing. I’m glad she has her own Christmas songs, because this is something that the world needs.
And Bublé seems to think so himself! Just look at his face as Ariana does her thing!
It’s great when you see two performers together who have such great chemistry. Great on-stage chemistry starts with a mutual admiration of each other’s skill, and it’s always heartwarming to see one artist feeling what another is doing.
And Michael Bublé seems to be feeling it indeed! Part of what makes his charisma on stage is that he doesn’t just stand there and sing. He moves, he reacts, he lets himself jive to the music. That’s how you level up from just another singer, to a real performer.
This is Bublé at the top of his game. I feel like he’d be a good time at a party… is that just me?
I don’t know how long it took the pair to rehearse, but it seems as if they’ve been performing together for a lifetime. Really, this is an iconic team-up for the decades.
