After the auditions, there is still so much left for contestants to do to make it to the semi-finals and finals rounds.
Every competition show is different and for The Voice, there are a lot of hoops for singers to jump through.
First, they need to get at least one coach to turn around for them during their blind audition.
As if that isn’t nerve-wracking enough after the “Blind Auditions” comes the “Battles Rounds.” In that round, the coach pits two team members against each other for a battle.
The coach then has to pick only one team member from the battle to advance to the next round. Luckily, each coach is allowed to steal in this round, but each coach only gets two steals.
So, if Blake Shelton were to cut someone from his team, then Adam Levine could steal that person for his own team!
After “Battle Rounds” is the level of competition we’re currently at – “Knockouts.”
The battle and knockout rounds are very similar in nature, except that in the “Knockouts” the team members have no idea who their partner is until right beforehand.
Singers also get to choose the song they want to perform during this round. 14-year-old Brynn Cartelli totally brought her A game for her “Knockouts” performance.
Brynn made it onto Team Kelly after her blind audition. For this round, Brynn chose Rascal Flatt’s “Here Comes Goodbye” to wow the coaches.
She certainly impressed her coach with the song choice and performance.
“Brynn, I was so excited by the song choice, even to attack a song with [Rascal Flatts’] vocal.”
But Kelly had a choice to make, she either had to pick Brynn or Jamella. It was a tough call for this American Idol pop star to make, but she did it. The winner of this knockout for Team Kelly was Brynn.
Afterward, Kelly expanded upon her choice and why she went with Brynn.
“Brynn has something really strong and super unique. Brynn will be the youngest person ever to win this show. I didn’t say ‘could,’ I said ‘will.’”
Do you think Kelly made the right choice by picking Brynn to advance further in the competition?

You need to see Brynn’s audition to understand how she made it onto Team Kelly. It was a choice between Team Blake or Team Kelly, and honestly, was it that hard for her to choose?
Brynn was Kelly’s first person that she turned around for, as this is Kelly’s first season as a coach on The Voice. Brynn had to choose Kelly after finding that out!
Blake tried to get Brynn onto his team by claiming that Kelly had no experience on The Voice, but she quickly countered with the fact that he had her mentor his team on the show’s second season.
He made Brynn’s choice so easy!
