Oftentimes we hear choirs singing hymns when we go to church. Their voices mix in harmony and roar throughout the church walls.
But it is always special and magical when kids sing church songs.
They’re the heart of innocence, after all.
It’s one of the sweetest things you could hear during Sunday services. Capturing it on camera is the best gift to share with everyone.
During an Easter Sunday church service, brothers Josiah and Micah sang a well-known Easter hymn.
“Up From The Grave He Arose”.
They had been practicing the song for a month to prepare for this moment.
Thankfully, one churchgoer made sure they took a video as memorabilia.
It is truly a blessing to share your God-given gifts with others.
As the piano starts to play, the younger sibling sang the first few lines of the song.
Every word he musters comes from his heart. And as he reaches the chorus, he is joined by the older brother and sang in unison.
Time for big brother to shine.
He sang his piece with passion as he serenaded the audience.
Both are lovable to watch.
Who would not want these young ones to sing praises to the Lord?
As they go about the end part, the younger brother sang as loud as he could, making sure that all of the people inside the church can hear them.
Everyone applaud the brave kids who not only sang in front of them but also praised God through the Easter Hymn.
“Up From The Grave He Arose” was a song composed by Baptist Pastor Robert Lowry back in 1874.
It was then added to the Hymnal with slight variations on the title, “Low In The Grave” or “Christ Arose”.
But commonly, the song is known by the title “He Arose.”
Whatever it’s called, one truth remains constant.
It’s stood the test of time.
The lyrics reminded us of the real reason we celebrate Easter.
It is all about remembering the sacrifice Jesus made to cleanse the sins of mankind.
Here are a few lines of the song:
“Low in the grave, he lay, Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o’er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!”
The lyrics were inspired by Luke 24: 5 – 8.
Lowry was sitting at his pump organ at home when the story of the tomb being opened and found empty inspired the ode to His resurrection.
It was also noted that the lyrics of the song’s second verse were inspired by Matthew 27:62-28:4.
Lowry was brilliant in literature.
He had great talent in music as well. No wonder this song is so powerful in sending the message that Jesus has risen.
