Vocal group The Great British Barbershop Boys is one of the most successful acapella acts in the UK.

When thinking about entertainment, acapella singing is not the first thing that comes to mind. However, these four men add a little twist to their performance, mixing it up with a lot of humor.

This is the video of them performing the “Evolution of Song” at the 2011 LABBS Convention.

The list of the songs they included in this video is pretty impressive.

Their performance is 11 minutes of pure fun and entertainment.

They wear suits, sing acapella and bring some classic old tunes to their performance. They sing it all—from songs as old as “Ave Maria” and “Magic Flute” to “Billie Jean” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Their performance is about singing every song their own way, including funny facial expressions and gestures. They try to bring the lyrics of the songs to life and they do it in a very funny way.

This is British humor at its best!

These guys definitely know how to entertain the audience.

They include various funny references in their act, and one of them even swaps hands to mimic McCartney’s left-handed bass. Their impressions of The Beatles, Elvis and Queen are hilarious. The best proof is that the audience laughs out loud every time they do something funny! The crowd must have had a really great time because there is so much laughter in this video from start to end.

This performance is epic and amazingly clever.

The best thing about their “Evolution of Music” is the fact that you can identify a lot of the songs even with the sound switched down.

These guys are good at bringing the song’s story to life, impersonating the funniest parts and adding their own energy. It is obvious that they spent a lot of time thinking it through and the result is very clever and very funny.

The range of sounds that can be produced by four men, with no instruments, is incredible.

Some of the funniest parts are probably their “YMCA” moves and the “Macarena” dance. They mock one another on the stage using the song lyrics, but it’s in a friendly manner and for the sake of the show. We’re guessing that anybody would love to see this show live!

These guys have very interesting day jobs.

The Great British Barbershop Boys is a group with four members.

They consist of baritone Joe Knight, a police administration worker from Nottingham; tenor Alan Huges, a teacher from Warrington; the lead singer Zac Booles who works as a signwriter in Loughborough; and bassist Duncan Blackeby, who is an I.T. project manager in York.

They came together at the National Barbershop Youth Chorus in 2005 and won the British Quartet Championship in 2008. They represented the UK at the International Barbershop Convention in Philadelphia. This brought them international fame and a £1 million deal with Arista Records.

The group released their debut album called “Christmas Time” at the end of 2010.

They appeared live on various live shows and they still hold their day jobs. Their backgrounds are almost as interesting as their actual musical performance is! Needless to say, you don’t get to see a quartet like these guys very often. We wish them success with their music projects, jobs, and future work.
