Anyone who has ever seen Simon Cowell in action as a judge knows that he is pretty hard to impress.

He seems to have seen it all and can determine whether a person has talent within seconds of them opening their mouth. Sometimes, he doesn’t even let them get that far before he rushes them off the stage. He has no worries about whether he has embarrassed them or crushed their dreams.

It takes a lot of courage to get up on stage and sing or perform your heart out.

When you know you have to deal with Simon’s criticism, things get a little more intimidating. A lot of people never even make it on stage because they are afraid of the rejection they might get. That wasn’t going to stop 16-year-old Jodi Bird. She has an amazing voice, and she wasn’t afraid to show it off.

When she stepped on the “Britain’s Got Talent” stage, it was clear that she was a little new to things. She was dressed simply and wore very little makeup. She was already sending a message that she was comfortable in her own skin and wanted everyone to focus on her voice. Simon wasn’t impressed by her appearance, but she didn’t seem to mind.

She opened her mouth and started to sing “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” and the audience began to clap.

Still, Simon didn’t want to hear it. He stopped her in the middle of her performance and told her that he wasn’t happy with her song choice. He asked if he could hear something a little different and a little less “smiley.” The audience and other judges were disappointed. They were enjoying her performance and her take on the popular show tune.

Jodi was a little taken back, as well. She thought she was doing well, and by the reaction of the audience, she was. She stopped and listened to what Simon had to say. Finally, the other judges demanded that Simon allow her to sing her first song. He agreed, and she started it from the beginning.

This time, she performed it with a lot more emotion and had the audience and the judges on their feet.

Her parents were cheering loudly for her in the audience, as well. The other judges even started dancing, and even Simon had to smirk at how things were going.

Jodi took her performance to the next level and hit all the right notes as she belted out these famous lyrics. At the end, she got a standing ovation, and many of the judges commended her for her song choice and having so much personality. They also pointed out how brave she was to deal with Simon’s comment and then come back and sing the song with just as much confidence as the first time.

At the end, when it was Simon’s turn to give his comments, he apologized for cutting her off so quickly and tried to explain that it was simply the song that he didn’t like.

He also commended her for coming back stronger and singing so well the second time. Jodi was happy to hear this, but was still nervous about his final decision.

As the judges went down the line and gave their “yes” votes, Simon hesitated for a few moments but ultimately decided that it was a “yes” for him, as well.

Jodi was thrilled, and her parents couldn’t contain their excitement, either. Jodi had changed his mind and her performance had won him over. She proved that she had not only talent but also the ability to handle criticism.

She didn’t make it to the end of the show, but she is still pursuing a career onstage.

She got a role in Superstars in the Making Performing Arts Academy’s production of “Hairspray” in South Wales. She is also continuing her schooling.
