Weddings are held differently all across the globe.
Different beliefs, different rituals, different cultures, different traditions, and different ceremonies.
But whichever way it’s done, a wedding is usually performed exclusively with guests that normally include family and friends of both the husband and wife.
Wedding ceremonies are typically done in a serene, tranquil, and solemn way. But that doesn’t necessarily mean weddings should be boring.
That’s why wedding dances were made.
The tradition of wedding dances has roots tracing back to 16th-century European royalty.
It was where guests paid homage to their newlywed monarchs by gracefully gliding across the ballroom while the couple observed with regal decorum.
This ceremonial dance displayed grandeur and exclusivity, reserved solely for the aristocracy.
However, the day we entered the digital age where everything could be shared online, it was also when brides and grooms started to take center stage.
Now, wedding receptions don’t just focus on the conventional way of wedding dances. It was only in the past decade that the first dance underwent a transformative evolution.
While some couples still opt for the traditional shuffle, others have embraced a new trend, turning the first dance into a meticulously choreographed performance, often the culmination of months of professional lessons.
Just take a look at this bride and her bridesmaids.
In a feel-good YouTube video that was uploaded by Alexis Teichmiller, the bride and her bridesmaids pulled off an unbelievable dance number.
All eyes were on the girls as they huddled in the middle of the reception area, pumping up the suspense. However, they’re more than happy to bust it all off at the “dance floor.”
As soon as the first song came in, all the girls, especially the bride quickly turned serious.
At first, when the song ‘Turn Down For What’ started playing, it only looked like they were just chatting.
But when ‘Chapel of Love’ came in playing, they turned into lovely ladies all floating to the rhythm of the music.
These girls move like they’re glued together.
Talk about swag? These ladies got that, too.
The next song was ‘Walk It Out’ and oh, these ladies got that flow up their sleeves too.
Not to mention one of the bridesmaids was also pregnant, they were definitely there to entertain all the guests.
There’s no telling how long it took for them to think of the choreography and practice the entire dance routine, let alone think of the wedding preparations.
Despite all the hurdles, the bride and her “squad” did an excellent job in pulling the entire mashup dance routine off.
‘Timber’, ‘Good As Well’, and ‘Lose Control’ were also on their playlist and it’s clear to see they put a lot of time and effort into coming up with their dance number.
All the guests watching were giddy, smiling, and cheering for the girls.
Nearly a million people online did the same.
Most comments were from online viewers commending the pregnant bridesmaid, while the rest were simply asking for the titles of the songs from the mashup dance number.
