One bride never needs to worry about that, her groom has been paying attention from their very first date.
Amanda Gabbard had just married the man of her dreams, Michael McGuirk.
She planned on giving a speech to her guests and thank everyone for coming, but her husband had a different idea. He had a surprise for his bride. Michael wanted to sing a song to his wife, but not just any song. He wanted to sing her a song she put on a mixed CD during the start of their relationship. It was the beautiful love song “I’m Your Man” by Leonard Cohen, but covered by Michael Bublé.
Amanda’s shocked face says it all, she was completely surprised.
“I didn’t even know that he knew the song or that he remembered that I had even made him that mix! He said that when I first played the song for him I mentioned it would be amazing if a girl had this sung to her on her wedding. I guess he was REALLY listening!” Amanda wrote.
Michael McGuirk did not just wing his surprise, he put major planning into it.
Anytime that Amanda was not home, he would sing the song in preparation. He wanted to make her swoon like all the great crooners can do. Once Amanda’s shock wore off, she was swooning away. If Michael had any nerves about singing for his wife in front of all their friends and family, he did not show it. Michael even improvised a bit throughout his romantic performance.
Michael sang the romantic lyrics that declare,
“If you want a lover
I’ll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I’ll wear a mask for you
If you want a partner, take my hand”
Amanda knows this song very well, she is the one that introduced it to Michael after all. So, she knew the last few notes would be hard to hit. What she did not know was how much Michael had practiced for this moment. Michael sang those last few notes beautifully. He can give Michael Bublé a run for his money.
Michael really is her man and his performance proved he will do anything.
Amanda is not the only person that Michael impressed, all the guests loudly applauded his performance and over seven million viewers have watched their video. Some commented,
“Well, he seems to be a real keeper! Any man who can remember something like that is worth his weight in solid gold!”
