They nailed it. One of the best first dances I've seen.

Wedding receptions are very different from those 20 years ago. Although some couples still choose a formal sit-down dinner, most don’t. Today’s brides and grooms want something that’s fun and celebratory. A big part of that is what they do on the dance floor.

Sure, a lot of newly married couples dance slow, especially the Waltz. But as shown in a video that’s now been viewed more than 90,000 times, one couple wanted to do something a little different. Not only were they unique but also fantastic.

The Foxtrot

That’s just not a dance you typically see a bride and groom do at their wedding reception. But hey, why not. After all, this style of dance is smooth and continuous, making it an excellent choice. While somewhat like the Waltz, it has its own rhythm, usually set to Big Band.

A new life for the Andersen’s

Married on August 8, 2014, this couple organized a truly magical wedding. But they wanted their reception to be just as memorable. Unbeknownst to their guest, they were prepared to put on a show that would blow the house down.

So much in love

Although we don’t know the back story as to how these two met, it’s easy to tell they’re madly in love. When she walks onto the dance floor in a stunning, short white wedding dress and he in a tuxedo minus the jacket, they can’t help but to gaze into each other’s eyes.

They’re ready to go

After taking their places side-by-side, you hear the DJ say, “Here we go.” That’s when the Big Band music begins to play. And what better song than “Come Dance with Me.” While everyone expected them to do a good job, they had no idea just how good.

Wow

Within just the first few seconds of them dancing, the bride twirls around in the direction of her groom. Then he grabs her by the waist and picks her up so gracefully while holding her in the air. It’s beautiful.

Guests start cheering

The reception hall is filled with family and friends who came to celebrate this couple’s marriage. As the bride and groom slide, glide, turn, and dip, you can hear cheers. Everyone at this point is mesmerized by their dancing ability.

The use the entire dance floor

A common mistake seen by couples at wedding receptions is that they stay in one area. But this couple moved across the entire dance floor. That meant everyone got a great view of them in action.

Practice makes perfect

There’s no question this bride and groom dedicated a lot of time to perfecting their version of the Fox Trot. Every move is beautifully choreographed. He has his frame properly set and she follows his lead without hesitation.

Are they pros?

We don’t know. But one thing we’re certain of…they nailed it. Even their arm extensions, heel to toe moves, kicks, and the bride’s hands are perfect. They gave this dance everything they had and it shows.

Unbelievably good

This is the kind of wedding reception that people like to attend. The setting was exquisite, the music divine, and the couple’s dance, magical. With a video, this husband and wife will have something to look back on to remember their special day.
