Breakdance requires so much skill and strength.

It involves a lot of acrobatics and can look extremely awe-inspiring.

For those who don’t know, b-boys and girls are breakdancers—and they often incorporate martial arts stunts in their routines to wow the crowd.

Breakdancing often involves dancing around with floor moves and drops and spins.

This type of acrobatic body language became the prime expression of young people. B-boying became popular in the 1980s, and today it has no rules. Anyone can develop their style.

With massive b-boy dance competitions being held around the world, the dance has evolved into a very popular artform.

R16 Korea is a great example. It is an annual international b-boy tournament and urban arts cultural festival.

The number 16 stands for 16 b-boy crews that participate in the two-days tournament and represent their countries.

What we have here is a 2012 R16 semi-final battle between the Massive Monkees from the United States and the Jinjo Crew from Korea.

Major of Seattle, Greg Nickels, declared April 26th as annual “Massive Monkees Day.”

That is because Massive Monkees are a crew based in Seattle, Washington.

They came together as a group of high-school friends who shared a great passion for dancing, and it all grew to become an award-winning group of artists. Massive Monkees take pride in pushing the boundaries of Hip Hop art, and the mediums used to express it.

The group has shared the stage with Macklemore, Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, Missy Elliott, Public Enemy, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z and 50 Cent, among others.

With over 10 years of experience with art programs for the youth, Massive Monkees are highly involved in numerous projects that concern the young people in their community.

Their Instagram account has over 7,000 followers, and they continue to compete today.

All the magic, practice and preparation happens behind the doors of their studio called The Beacon.

Jinjo Crew aims to make b-boying mainstream.

The group formed in 2001, and it’s the first Korean act to become a world champion in the breakdance genre.

The Jinjo members have won five largest competitions, the most important titles of which are the Red Bull BC One in 2008, the Battle of the Year in 2010 and the UK B-boy Championship in 2012.

There’s a chance that b-boying will be included in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Jinjo Crew art director Kim Heon-woo, also known as Bboy Wing, expects breakdance to become mainstream soon. You can see Wing doing some impressive things in the video. Mark the moment 3:28—the twirl he does on the floor looks almost impossible.

The originality and dynamics of all the dancers are incredible.

After every awesome move, the crowd roars and gives the performers all the love in the world. Everyone is following their every move, no one is even blinking.

All the upside-down rotations that these dancers pull off are so amazing.

It simply counts as one of those moments where you can’t believe your eyes. There is one more equally incredible moment around 9:06 when One Be Lo jumps, lands on his head, and then does a backflip. It’s mind-blowing. We would be more than happy if this art became mainstream so that we could enjoy seeing these guys defy the laws of physics as often as possible! And 79 million YouTube viewers seem to agree.
