The look on the lead dancer’s face cracks me up.

If you’re at a ballet performance, typically the audience isn’t cracking up over the dancers on stage. Perhaps you may hear some “oohs and ahhs,” but laughter (in most situations) would be just plain rude.

The video below, however, isn’t your typical performance. Let’s just say they’re not your typical dancers either! While the classic moves are there and it’s full of leotards and tutus – the act is meant to be hilarious.

It’s time to throw out your visions of sweet ballerinas in pointe shoes and buns. After all, there are none of them in this show – and instead of crowd members tossing flowers, they’re rolling in their seats!

Six teenage boys can be seen crouching down on the stage after the curtain opens up. Immediately the sight causes the crowd to cheer and whistle.

When the dancers stand up their ballerina costumes come into view, which are very white and tight! They’re each wearing a leotard, a type of leggings, and a tutu.

As the Swan Lake melody blasts through the speakers, the Hungarian teens hop into action.

They begin by spreading their arms wide and flapping them up and down. All the boys try to stay in sync and keep straight faces during their moves (which really, doesn’t sound like an easy feat).

Naturally, when they start to spin the crowd can’t help but laugh.

The show had only begun.

For their next move, the boys create a line and perform some side dips. After some more arm flapping, they dive like birds in a circle. Or perhaps, they’re playing a game of airplanes!

While the teenagers’ dancing caused breakouts of laughter, in all seriousness, they’re actually pretty good.

Their routine is made up of a combination of moves, and likely it took them a bit of practice to get it down. Surely there was some laughter going on during those practices too, but that’s to be expected!

Can you imagine them learning this move together in one of their living rooms? Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

It seems to be some sort of talent show, so likely getting a good workout wasn’t the group’s intentions. However, ballet has health benefits for the mind, body, and soul.

According to the website Health Fitness Revolution – ballet improves posture, builds muscle and agility, lifts confidence, improves flexibility, sharpens cognitive function, and more.

There are other ballet parodies online that have also caused sides to split. When it comes to these teens from Hungary, they certainly won over the internet.

People from all over the world have left comments on the video. One person wrote:

“I’ve watched this a dozen times and I laugh each and every time. The look on the lead dancer’s face is truly inspirational!!! These boys deserve an A plus for effort!”

Another viewer commented:

“Wonderfully done and with great humour! Kudos! From Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada!! BRAVO!”

At the end of the performance, the group poses and then goes in for some curtsies. Everyone watching goes wild and there’s some chanting too. And for the perfect exit, they fly like swans off the stage.

Watching a ballet performance is usually a magical experience that leaves you awestruck. This one isn’t quite like that, but it’s certainly entertaining, to say the least.
