Some musicians were just born to be famous.
Ed Sheeran’s music has been melting hearts ever since he made his debut back in 2011, and it has also been inspiring other musicians as well. In fact, many artists have already done awesome cover performances of his chart-topping songs. In the performance today, a professional cover band plays “Shape of You” and racks up over 18 million views for their incredible interpretation of the song.
The top-notch cover band is called Boyce Avenue, and their performance took the internet by storm.
Boyce Avenue is an American band from Sarasota, Florida known for its phenomenal covers of mainstream bands. The three brothers got their unique name by simply combining the names of the streets they grew up on.
In this jaw-dropping cover performance, Boyce Avenue shows us why they’re world-renowned as one of the best cover bands around while playing the popular Ed Sheeran song.
At the beginning of the video, lead vocalist Alejandro Manzana begins singing the song in brilliant fashion.
Boyce Avenue wastes no time getting into it, and the chemistry the brothers share is outstanding.
The oldest brother, Daniel Manzana, is on the bass and percussion, laying down some gorgeous background vocals for his baby brother. In the meantime, the middle brother Fabian Manzana rocks out the guitar and also sings some of the vocals as well.
Boyce Avenue gives Ed Sheeran a run for his money as they flawlessly go through the Grammy-winning song with ease.
Alejandro lets his voice soar, matching the song note for note.
All three brothers from Boyce Avenue are extremely gifted, and they were signed with Universal Republic Records until they went independent.
Boyce Avenue has even had success on the Billboard Charts with their impressive covers—their rendition of “We Found Love” by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris peaked at #40 on the charts back in 2011.
On top of their success with their covers and original music, Boyce Avenue has blown up on YouTube in ways not many other bands have.
Their YouTube channel has over 14 million subscribers and has over a mind-boggling 5.2 billion views in total!
Toward the end of the performance, Boyce Avenue goes full throttle and plays “Shape of You” in a way never done before.
There’s no stopping Boyce Avenue—all three of them are masters of their craft and it really shows in performances like this one. They’re all perfectly on cue with each other the entire time, feeding off of one another’s energy and working as a group.
For the grand finale, Daniel goes off on his drums while Alejandro manipulates his voice beautifully singing high and low notes simultaneously.
After watching them perform, you start to realize exactly why they have billions’ of views.
Since it was posted, Boyce Avenue’s cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” has been viewed over 18.8 million, with 178,000 people who liked it.
