Losing a family member is a horrible thing for anyone to deal with.

Fletcher Pilon lost his younger brother in a skateboarding accident and decided to memorialize him with a song. Fletcher had covered many other songs before, but he decided to write a special one for his brother. When he won a spot as a contestant on the show “Australia’s Got Talent,” he knew that he wanted to honor his brother with that song.

His amazing lyrics and story behind them touched the judges and had them all in tears by the end of the performance.

As they all wiped their eyes, they praised him for his talent. He got four “yesses” from the judges and want sent on to the next round.

He ultimately made it to the grand finale. A voting line was opened, and viewers could call in and cast their votes for the best contestant. Fletcher received the most votes and won the contest and $250,000.

The touching lyrics include:

“I remember the days we used to skate in the street.
You were so happy in your bright red jeans, and
there’s nothing you liked more than going faster than me.
You would sleep on my floor almost every night
playing games we were never too tired.
There’s nothing I liked more than being right by your side.

So, fly, fly my infinite child.
Live in happiness; keep that smile.
Fly, fly infinite child.
I love you Banj.
Fly my infinite child, my infinite child.

I miss the way you were playing drums,
make so much noise and have so much fun.
Hoochi coochi man will always be your song.
You always were full of so much life,
live to be happy and just have a good time.
My little mate, you won’t ever die.

So, fly, fly my infinite child.
Live in happiness; keep that smile.
Fly, fly infinite child.
I love you Banj.
Fly my infinite child, my infinite child.

You’re always with me,
you’re always with me,
you’re always with me,
you’re always with me.

Oh, no.
Oh, oh, oh no.

So, fly, fly my infinite child.
Live in happiness; keep that smile.
Fly, fly infinite child.

I love you, Banjo!”

Before appearing on “Australia’s Got Talent,” Fletcher tried his luck at other shows.

He appeared on the Australian version of “The Voice Kids.” He sang a song called “Flying with the King” and had all of the judges turn around for him. He chose to work with the Madden Brothers. He moved onto the battle round of the show but was eliminated there.

He also had appearances on Nickelodeon’s “Slime Fest” and “Balcony TV Sydney.”

Fletcher always had dreams of making it big but wasn’t afraid to pay his dues. He often performed at shopping malls, markets, and restaurants.

Fletcher is still doing well and has released a couple of albums. His first one, “Banjo,” was a memorial to his brother. In 2017, he signed with Sony Music Australia and released the single “Water.” He also has a huge fan following on Facebook and Twitter. He is continuing to perform and work on records.

He has booked many shows in Australia and has been interviewed by many newspapers and music magazines.

He considers himself a work in progress and is always learning more about the music industry.

If Fletcher continues to stay focused and wow audiences, he will likely have a pretty good career in the music industry. One day, he will be able to look back and talk about how it all started with a song about his little brother.
