Music is primal. A good beat or an emotional tune can take you to another place; it can make you snap your fingers and tap your feet, and nothing is better than unexpectedly hearing your favorite song. Unfortunately, as we get older, we get worried about embarrassing ourselves by silly things like singing and dancing. But this video is a reminder to let go of your worries and just feel the beat.

This video was captured at a Rascal Flatts concert in Pikesville, Kentucky. During the break for intermission, a popular song at the time began to play over the speakers. It’s one that you may remember— “I’m Sexy and I Know It” by the group LMFAO.

When the catchy, electronic music began to play, one young boy just couldn’t hold back. With a combination of badass dance moves, unstoppable energy, and unabashed passion, he ultimately stole the show, reminding people everywhere that it’s perfectly okay to let loose and be yourself.

The three-minute video begins in the middle of the boy’s high-energy routine. Dressed in a blue collared shirt and a casual pair of jeans, he struts down the stairs, thrusting his hips, stomping his legs, and impressing everybody in the process. Throughout his impromptu performance, you can see the entire audience watching him, recording the event while cheering him on.

The little boy’s performance has been viewed more than 10 million times. And I have to say, the lyrics of the song in combination with his unashamed joie-de-vivre do make for a great viewing experience. The internet, for the most part, seems impressed:

“He will be on Ellen very soon!”

“he even got a spotlight wow”

“Wow. He looks so happy and he is so adorable.”

“go on kid bust some moves we should take a leaf out of his book, just go and enjoy yourself”

This little boy acts as a reminder to nurture your inner child; to live an unabashed life that makes you happy and keeps your soul warm throughout cold nights. When we grow up, we tend to lose our sense of innocent joy, always worrying about how we may be perceived. But, when it comes down to it, at the end of the day I think Lady Gaga said it best:

“Don’t you ever let a soul in the world tell you that you can’t be exactly who you are.”
