Do you know those kinds of performances that cause endless amounts of chills and put tears in everyone’s eyes? Yeah, that’s pretty much what happened when 12-year-old Sasha Zazarashvili auditioned on The Voice Kids Ukraine.
In fact, the boy’s rendition of “All by Myself” is so moving that it’s gone beyond the stage of the show – and has actually lit the internet on fire. Be sure to grab a box of tissues because Sasha has quite the set of lungs.
The Voice Kids is a reality TV competition that’s become wildly popular around the world.
There are numerous countries that have their own versions of the show too. From the Philippines to the Netherlands, we’ve seen jaw-dropping talent emerge from all parts of the globe.
When Sasha from Georgia (also known as “Alexandre”) walked onto the stage of Season 5 – nobody knew it was about to become an audition so riveting – it’d be watched millions of times online.
Each of the coaches had their backs turned to Sasha in the very beginning. However, all of that was about to change.
After the music began to play, Sasha opened his mouth and produced a very soft and beautiful voice in English. The judges could instantly pick up that he was performing the American classic, “All by Myself.”
It quickly seemed like they were drifting off to dreamland because of the soothing sound.
Sometimes, there’s a part in a song where an artist can either make it or break it during a performance. Everyone sat in anticipation to see how the tween would handle the epic line, “All by myself…”
Let’s just say that within one second – Sasha manages to spread goosebumps to every judge, crowd member, and all the viewers at home.
Those few words had some of the celebrities slapping their hands down on the big red buttons. Only a moment later, the last one hit his as well.
It was about to go to a whole other level.
Everyone seemed amazed when they turned and came face to face with 12-year-old Sasha. That’s the beauty of The Voice, contestants aren’t judged on anything besides their talent during the blind auditions.
Sasha then belts out a high note that’s so soul-shaking, one judge jumps to his feet and screams, “Wow!” Another puts her hands over her mouth in pure awe.
Get ready for all the tears.
“All by Myself” is a tune by Eric Carmen, which came out in 1975. However, there have been many artists over the years who have taken a crack at it – including female powerhouse, Celine Dion.
As Sasha continues singing it’s also with such intensity that there isn’t a dry eye in the house. Even his father standing in the back needs a tissue watching his son perform.
The looks on the judges’ faces are extra priceless. If you were going to try out on a reality TV show, this is the reaction you would hope to receive.
Sasha’s performance not only secured him a chance to move on in the competition, but there’s actually even greater news.
After additional performances, he ended up being crowned the overall champion of The Voice Kids Ukraine Season 5! When asked about being so well-loved, Sasha told the Georgian Journal:
“I think it is probably because of my modesty. Besides, people were impressed with my voice and vocal performance. As my coach says – Sasha is a great singer and a very modest boy who has rocked the world.”
