Children are quick learners. When your children are interested in something, chances are they’ll pick it up rather quickly. Eli Searcy, a 9-year-old boy from Hamlin, Arkansas, was clearly dazzled by the King of Pop so much so that he learned how to imitate all of his dance moves.

Truth be told, the world doesn’t lack MJ impersonators, but there is something extra charming when a kiddo is doing the moonwalk on stage. Please, check it out, the boy is a true firecracker on stage. No wonder the video got quarter a million views.

Eli’s parents have always been supportive of his talent, and his mom published several videos of Eli’s progress over the past few years.

Mom and dad must be proud of Eli because his fancy footwork racked up over 1.4K “likes” on YouTube.

The boy must have been practicing a lot because you can’t just wake up one day, and decide to do an impeccable Billie Jean dance routine.

Amy Brown Searcy, Eli’s mom, explained in the video description that Eli learned everything on his own. The kid simply watched so many videos of Michael Jackson dancing, and he eventually learned how to copy the footwork. Impressive!

Complete with an authentic MJ outfit, and white glove, Eli was a true surprise on stage.

The video was published several years ago, but it doesn’t fail to impress when you watch it. One viewer commented:

“This kids just cruising, keep it up man!!”

It’s a good thing Eli decided to pursue his passion for dance.

Look at the moment 00:23, at the very beginning of the video. We were taken aback by such a smooth move when Elis tossed his hat away and did one of the greatest moonwalks we’ve ever seen. He’s a natural-born dancer.

We couldn’t believe the split at the end of the video, it was completely awesome.

Amazingly, the boy managed to put his own flavor to the choreography, by tweaking the timing a bit. Nevertheless, all moves were incredibly precise. Can we just say one more time that he nailed the moonwalk? Yes, he did.

Nice job, Eli. We don’t know how long did it take you to master one of the most popular dance moves in the world, but you certainly are a pro now.

The audience went crazy when things heated up a bit.

In the beginning, when “Billie Jean” had just started, no one believed that such a small boy could deliver a perfect routine. By the time everyone realized that the boy means some serious business, Eli was well on his way to be his school’s little superstar.

A year later, Eli’s mom posted another video of him dancing at another school talent show.

Once again, now at the age of 10, Eli impressed everyone with the “Smooth Criminal” dance. We can’t decide which video we like better. It is hard to forget the fact that Eli was only 9 when he first impressed everyone and danced like Michael Jackson.

We are more than excited for him, who knows what else he’ll learn in the future. Only the sky is the limit, especially for someone whose dancing didn’t need to be professionally trained to resemble MJ’s dance so much.
