Everyone has their favorite movie. And each one has a favorite scene, line, or moment. It is a guilty pleasure to imitate and even act out a favorite scene too. Could be an action sequence, classic lines, or even the characters themselves.
Well eight-year-old Charlie has his but it’s not something you would expect a kid his age would be doing.
A romantic drama dance classic from 1987.
You see, Charlie is a big fan of Dirty Dancing. He loves it so much that he channels his inner Patrick Swayze and actually dances along to that iconic scene. And Charlie can move!
It’s a shame he doesn’t have someone to be his “Baby” because Charlie is giving Patrick a run for his money. Did Charlie take all summer to learn the dance too?
Someone better find Charlie a partner.
The movie is a delight to watch but the dance moves are very difficult to learn. And yet little Charlie makes it look effortless. He’s got “Time of my life” perfected and he is astounding to watch.
Charlie must be a natural to have picked up on the dance so easily.
You can see him watching intently and when right moment comes, he just magically turns into Johnny Castle.
He doesn’t mind that his mom, Lainie Kristina, was recording him either.
His eyes are glued on to the screen but his hips and footwork are on point.
The only times he stops are during the scenes that Jennifer Grey’s “Baby” is doing her part. What can he do? Charlie really needs a partner.
What’s cool is he actually mirrors everything Patrick Swayze’s “Johnny” is doing on screen. He even spins on his knees and does the head roll like an exact miniature copy of Swayze.

But how does a kid like Charlie get exposed to a classic movie like this? His mom of course! Dirt Dancing is actually one of Lainie‘s favorites.
“Since the movie had the name ‘dancing’ in it, Charlie insisted on watching it the next day at home. He has probably watched it only 10-12 times. He loves to dance and cannot sit when he is watching a music video or anything with dancing in it.”
What’s not to love about Dirty Dancing?
What about that iconic “lift”? After all it’s a well known scene and for many people, a classic moment in a classic movie.
Well Charlie stands fixated on the screen and just looks on. Pretty sure he wishes he had a partner to lift. Maybe someday, little man. Everyone will be waiting and watching.

Charlie is an amazingly talented kid and he is sure to put smiles on many faces. In his own way, he helps immortalize the film and with it make new fans. Dirty Dancing‘s soundtrack took home Golden and Academy awards for “Best original song” and a Grammy for “Best pop performance by a duo or group with vocals”.
“The time of my life” is a staple at parties and dances. Don’t feel guilty for either singing or dancing along to it whether people are watching you or not.
