The Pink Panther theme can be sensational when put in the hands of super talented dancers. The instrumental composition by Henry Mancini is a well known and beloved theme composed for the 1963 film The Pink Panther.
When Sondre Olsen-Bye and Tanya Georgiievska chose the theme as their next spectacular dance, it blew everyone’s minds. No one ever thought of using this theme to such an awesome dance!
Their partnership, according to the site,
“… started at SwingAout Festival 2015. Since then we have been competing, teaching and performing boogie woogie all around Europe and outside it. With great joy we travel to spread the love for swing dancing in general and boogie woogie in particular.”
Their love for dance shines in this one. It is creative, fun, and playful.
Tanya’s pink dress blends with the soft pink lighting as she swirls and sways her way around the floor matching Sondre’s fancy footwork. It stays true to the theme of the classic comedy. Sneaky and sultry, yet surprisingly frisky.
Lots of extended arm and leg motions as Sondre and Tanya mirror each other in front of their audience. They certainly know how to put on a show!

These two are known for show stopping performances.
It’s almost like they’re playing a game of sleuth except the clues are in the dance. They increase the tempo when the theme blares its trumpets, then slow it back down when the instruments fade.
As a matter of fact, Mancini said something similar in his autobiography regarding the composition,
“I told [the animators] that I would give them a tempo they could animate to, so that any time there were striking motions, someone getting hit, I could score to it. [The animators] finished the sequence and I looked at it. All the accents in the music were timed to actions on the screen.”
Brilliant. Couple that with this couple’s stunning dance moves and we have art on the dance floor.
The pose, the multiple spins, and Tanya’s hypnotic hips are a delight to watch as she compliments Sondre’s sharp kicks and playful smiles. Then he grabs her by the arm and leg, spinning Tanya around to the crowd’s approval.

For a dance that’s only a little over a minute long, it was enough to stop time for their onlookers and viewers. The slower tempo takes your breath away, and only when you re watch it do you realize how insanely talented Sondre and Tanya are.
See those judges? They weren’t expecting this. But then again it’s Sondre and Tanya so they should have known that these two were bringing something special.
