Last year, an Australian singer named Tones and I released their single “Dance Monkey,” off their debut EP The Kids Are Coming. The song gained major popularity, topping official singles charts in over 30 countries, peaking in the top 10 on many charts, and even breaking the record for the most weeks at number one on the Australian Singles Chart by an Australian act.

Additionally, the artist won four ARIA Music Awards last year (and was nominated for eight), won Song of The Year at the 2020 APRA Music Awards, and the video for the track reached over one billion views.

We don’t know about you, but we’d say that’s not too shabby — especially for a debut!

So, needless to say, this song is stuck in a lot of people’s heads quite often. And because of its viral popularity and extremely catchy melodies, many artists all around the world have taken a stab at the song themselves.

Well-known Youtubers like J.Fla, Alexander Stewart and Gabriella Valdes have all covered the song and all of their covers have garnered one million views at the very least.

But sometimes, our favorite performances are spontaneous ones.

Peter Buka is a pianist who posts tons of videos of him playing the piano on his channel. One video in particular though really caught the world’s eye.

He attempted his very own cover of “Dance Monkey” in the middle of a metro station in London and absolutely nailed it.

Lucky for him, there was a piano right in the station and it was loud enough so that every person passing by could hear.

He played with such high energy that he caught the eye of many but more specifically, two girls were very intrigued by his fabulous playing.

The two girls, who were friends, stuck behind him the entire time while he played and did his thing. He was only playing the piano — not singing — but there was not a single note out of place. He totally smashed the melody and added so many other bits that really took the song to the next level.

And the girls were just head-over-heels in love (which, we can’t blame them). As he played and intensified, they exchanged looks with one another. They looked so amazed that watching their reaction as they watch him felt like part of the performance.

One girl’s eyes would widen and react to what he was playing, and then she would glance over at her friend to see if she was also in disbelief. And she always was.

The clip was only released a few months ago and already has 50 million views — which is crazy!

In the comment section, people make jokes about how the girls and Peter went out on a date after his epic performance. People also call Peter the “God of piano” and admit to watching this performance more than once.

Which… Can we blame them? This is a pretty “savage” performance, as the kids would say.

Big things are coming for you, Peter!
