Bon Jovi had eyes for one woman.
Her name is Dorothea. Bon Jovi first met Dorothea at Sayreville War Memorial High School in their New Jersey hometown.
He fell in love on day 1.
In 1989, at the height of his success, Bon Jovi and Dorothea eloped.
The two lovers went to Las Vegas and got married to an Elvis impersonator.
You’d think that it would thrill the people closest to Bon Jovi to know his incredible love story, but it was the other way around.
“When I came back from Vegas, my manager was furious,” Jon said in an interview with PEOPLE. “He was like, ‘America’s boy is now married… that’s not a good career move.’ The record company was also desponded.’”
