When it comes to getting together with your friends and blowing off a little steam, doing karaoke is one of the best ways.
Whether it’s just you and a few buddies after work during the week or it’s for a more official event, karaoke has a way of bringing people together.
Even if you’re not a particularly good singer, going to a karaoke bar always promises a few interesting performances—and probably a few interesting characters as well.
Still, nobody expected what happened in this video.
That’s because Jon Bon Jovi decided to jump in to surprise some unsuspecting fans.
As the clip begins, artist Jon Bon Jovi explains that he’s been recruited by Omaze to surprise a bunch of fans—and to bring some support to the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
While Bon Jovi is definitely known for his ‘80s rock anthems, his foundation is something entirely different. His foundation is designed to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by raising money for sustainable housing and social support programs!
To that end, he decided to join in on this special video to earn some attention and raise money.
As the clip begins, the crew sets up a bunch of hidden cameras in the karaoke studio.
Shortly after that, the makeup artists have Bon Jovi in their chair. They give some makeup, a fake beard and a full disguise with a wig and a hat. After he sees himself, he says that he looks just like Zac Brown!
With everything in place and the playlist set, all that there is left to do is wait. With no further ado, the guests come in for their private party.
Before long, Bon Jovi comes up on the playlist… and he comes in the room in his disguise.
To lull them into a false sense of security, he lets several songs play first… and makes some comments along the way.
Before long, Bon Jovi starts joining in on the activities here and there… but he still never reveals who he is!
Even though he doesn’t fully show who he is, he’s definitely getting the group’s energy up—though everyone is a little confused as to who he is. After enough time has passed, he takes his hat off… and then his wig. When they realize who it is, the crowd goes wild!
When you step out to do karaoke with your friends, you don’t expect to see the real Jon Bon Jovi!
Needless to say, nobody expected it and the performance was a total success!
While these surprise karaoke videos are always a lot of fun, it’s nice to see one that also has a greater purpose behind it.
