Music. Nothing else captures the senses quite like it. Wherever you are in the world, find a spot that plays music and for that few minutes, everyone gets along just fine. It could be a restaurant, a park, a bar, a concert, it doesn’t matter.
Nothing tickles the senses quite like wonderful music.
If you are in to classics, check out this by the always amazing Andrea Bocelli, Helene Fischer, Chris Botti, and David Foster. The song is called, “When I fall in love” and the setting is perfect. It’s a beautiful evening, a stage is set outside what looks to be a row of apartments facing a body of water, the walls and tress adorned with lights emitting a soft orange glow to accentuate the people on stage.
David Foster starts off with an introduction.
He informs Bocelli that he will be singing with someone he has never performed with.
A lady from Germany who is all sorts of amazing and talented. David also calls to stage Chris Botti, an American trumpeter and composer.
The song is written by Victor Young and Edward Heyman and was released in 1952. It is a sweet, melodic, definitely romantic song perfect for lovers and soon to be ones.
Many artists have covered this song. Names include the great Nat King Cole, Celine Dion, Clive Griffin, Rick Astley, Donny Osmond, and many others.
The intro is already soothing. Foster keys in with his piano accompanied by Botti’s trumpet. A band plays along with a soft violin arrangement to match the mood. Fischer’s dress perfectly complements Andrea’s jacket.
The white making both singers stand out on stage. They really are artists in the broadest sense.
Bocelli sings the first verse, the audience breaking into applause already.
“When I fall in love
It will be forever
Or I’ll never fall in love”
Pretty cool to still hear Andrea’s accent all throughout that part too. Adds a certain exotic flavor to the song.
“In a restless world
Like this is
Love is ended before it’s begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun”
Helene’s voice is a perfect balance of tone and power. There is a sweetness to her voice and she carries the melody with such amazing control. No German accent here. Sorry, Andrea.
Chris Botti finds his moment and away he goes, jazzy notes from his trumpet as he blows his magic into it. David Foster has never been a slouch on that piano either. The amount of talent on that stage is electric. Lucky crowd that night.
Check out Bocelli and Fischer too. Eyes closed and smiling the whole time Botti was playing his trumpet.
Andrea is holding back here. He doesn’t display his already established vocal power, but Helene doesn’t shy away from a few high notes. This lady can sing and you can find her performances all over the internet.
Now it’s one thing to sing together. It’s another level of talent when two fantastic singers are able to blend their voices together without overpowering or drowning out the other.
These four artists are breathtaking to behold. Everything about this video was perfect. The song, the setting, the musicians and singers, gave that audience a night they won’t forget.
