Music has an overwhelming impact on our lives all over the world.
No matter where you go, it’s hard to find a part of the world that hasn’t heard of rock, pop or blues music. The same goes for Brazil, whose music encompasses various regional music styles.
Right now, even more interesting to us are the Brazilian versions of foreign musical styles.
To hear what we mean, check out Milk’n Blues. For those who don’t know, they’re a Brazilian band that does epic covers of some of the most popular songs.
For Milk’n Blues band members, it all began when Aline Mota and Anne Gloer decided to film a video of the two of them singing.
They needed more people (including a guitarist), which is why they invited their neighbors to join in. The video went well, and a harmonica player also joined the band!
Today they have an interesting repertoire which includes their own arrangements of songs by Michael Jackson, Cee Lo Green and Britney Spears among others.
The band also has their own writings, and the first album was released in 2015. It is available on most major streaming and digital stores, such as iTunes and Spotify.
Current members are singers Aline and Anne, Eduardo Machado who plays bass and Tiago Juk who plays the guitar.
The story wouldn’t be complete without Indiara Sfair who plays harmonica and Piatan Sfair on drums.
In all, this video is a show of great musicianship where everyone sounds amazing.
In the video, they perform three different songs.
The whole video is a combination of music by The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd, which blend together really well. The first one on is “Miss You,” a 1978 single by the Stones. It is followed by “The Happiest Days Of Our Lives” and “Another Brick In The Wall” by Pink Floyd. The camera work and the excellent sound quality stroke us immediately. All three ladies and three gentlemen look classy, and their charisma is undeniable.
What we liked the most is how well the harmonica incorporated in all three songs, as if it was always there.
Milk’n Blues made some excellent arrangements and added some originality with a lot of respect towards the key elements of the original songs.
The band’s official YouTube channel has 144,000 subscribers, and 10,800 people follow them on Instagram.
There is also the official website where you can find more information regarding their live performances.
The bass player keeps it tight, and the girl who plays harmonica blows a mean tune.
Milk’n Blues version of “Miss You” is some kind of a nice version of the song, and the harmonica sits perfectly well with it.
We loved how every band member was tasteful with his playing, there is no exaggeration and no showing off. All the notes are in all the right places, and the groove just drags you in.
This is one of those incredibly good covers that will have you be-bopping to the beat.
Everyone nailed it: the cutter tone on the Les Paul, lots of smiles and three-part harmonies in the chorus. No wonder the video was viewed 16 million times on YouTube!
The performance has American blues translated through British rock and then restated through Brazilian voices.
You know the world is an interesting place when so much is happening with a song!
This is proof of how many different things you can do with a tune to get an original sound while paying homage to the older version as well. We enjoyed every second of these eight minutes, and we can only hope that the band will start performing worldwide.
They truly deserve to be heard everywhere!
It’s a good thing we have the internet today, to share all the quality content.
