This month, the 18th season of “America’s Got Talent” (AGT) rolled on with its sixth audition episode.

At this stage, each judge has a single “golden buzzer” decision, a chance to catapult an act directly to the live shows.

This time, Heidi Klum found her golden buzzer act.

Lavender Darcangelo is a singer with a voice that moved the audience and judges alike.

Klum was so impressed that she asked Lavender if she could be her cheerleader “all the way to the finish line.”

Before her performance of “Out Here on My Own,” Lavender shared her inspiring backstory with the audience and judges.

She introduced her adopted father, who assisted her on stage due to her blindness.

Lavender had met him at an after-school music program he ran.

As their bond grew, she asked him and his husband to adopt her.

Now, at 27, Lavender has come a long way from the first four years of her life when she didn’t speak at all.

She envisions a school where “classes are based off of what kids are naturally curious at. A school I would have thrived in.”
