Blackberry Smoke is an American rock band from Atlanta, Georgia.
The band emerged in the early 2000s and has had great success so far in their career. These fellas released six studio albums, and two of them topped the Billboard chart. With an incredible fusion of classic rock, blues, country, and folk, their group is bringing the world some great music.
They’re a band that are perfect to hear live—which is why we’re bringing you BBS’s acoustic performance of “Ain’t Much Left Of Me.”
Southern Ground Studios in Nashville has welcomed a lot of famous artists over the years, including Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Foo Fighters, and Roger Miller.
Vocalist Charlie Starr says they’re about to perform their newest song called “Ain’t Much Left Of Me.” The frontman proceeds to explain that the song was initially written for a couple of acoustic guitars but turned into a musical opus during rehearsals.
All the members of Blackberry Smoke are interesting, funny, and very cheerful.
They give out a friendly vibe and create a great, warm atmosphere. All of them have long hair, Southern style and huge smiles. What more could you ask for?
This song proves that there’s still some great music being made.
With its powerful lyrics, the song is so touching and you’ll likely pick up half of it right after the first hearing.
The song brings great vocals and beautiful melodies. In all, these gentlemen bring out the best from their acoustic instruments. These guys are so talented and aren’t afraid to pull off their unique style with brilliant songwriting. In their performance, we’re reminded of how a good, old Southern rock sounds like.
The song has powerful lyrics, and the band describes it as a song about a man who has hit bottom.
Starr explains it best:
“It’s a nobody-knows-you-when-you’re-down-and-out kind of song. You don’t have a friend and you don’t have a nickel.”
We’re guessing that almost anybody can relate to it. We’ve all been down before, but you just pick yourself up and go on. That’s the beauty of the song—it reminds you how fragile life can be but motivates you to fight your battles, whatever they are. It’s the best bottom line any piece of art can have.
In all, it was an exceptional performance that can help raise people’s spirits.
A performance like this will lift you.
Nobody’s immune to quality music—we all love to hear it, and we ask for more. As this clip proves, Blackberry Smoke has a beautiful talent for making music and we love to see Southern rock alive and kicking. The group’s acoustic guitars sound incredible in this piece, and it’s enough to make you think that the instrument has some healing powers to it. We felt amazing after hearing these guys do their thing and we loved every second of it.
According to the group: “We’re all likeminded in that we all want to explore.”
The previous line is written on BBS’s official website and it makes you think a lot.
The band’s driving force is obviously lust for knowing more and knowing different things. It’s an excellent way of thinking and has proven to be golden for the Southern band. Their sixth studio album “Find A Light” combines different genres and aims to offer a lot of diversity. Blackberry Smoke members are musicians who don’t want to repeat themselves. We can only be proud of them and may we all find our light if we haven’t already.
