“Rock Around The Clock” was written in a 12-bar blues format, and the most successful rendition of the song was recorded by Bill Haley and His Comets in 1954.

Yes, it’s more than 60 years old—time flies! When it was released, it was a number-one single in both the United States and United Kingdom charts.

You’re about to see young people from the ’50s dancing all night long.

They knew how to rock around the clock, and it feels amazing to see that every generation knew how to party. Next time you look at your grandparents, be sure that they’ve had a blast more than a few times when they were younger.

The place is West Rock Club and the year is 1956.

Bill Haley and His Comets are onstage performing one of their biggest hits and the dance floor is full. It looks like the true origins of swing dance, and you can see it in the way dancers move. The video might be in black and white, but it will make you see a whole spectrum of colors because of how much joy it brings! There are men in suits and ladies in dresses, and everyone is dressed so elegantly. It’s clear everyone knows how to let loose!

The best part is when the couple dressed in black comes to the stage.

They are obviously professional dancers because they bust some impressively hard moves, and the other dancers gather around them and start clapping. The rhythm is fast and the enthusiasm is contagious. All the performers are happy to be part of the performance, and they’re all smiling the whole time. Everyone is in a good mood and it’s easy to see why!

It’s a great example of dancer Lisa Gaye in action.

As she steps on stage, the song instantly becomes ten times catchier.

Our eyes were glued to her effortless dancing, and every spin and twirl she made left us in awe. The American singer, actress and dancer certainly knew how to keep the audience entertained!

Also notable is that she can be seen wearing pants in the video.

It was unusual for those days, but luckily there were always bold women who weren’t afraid of making a statement.
