Clarkson was in the vibrant city of Las Vegas to grace the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
While on her way to the soundcheck, she stumbled upon a woman delivering a passionate rendition of Tina Turner songs on the sidewalk.
Touched by her performance, Clarkson felt compelled to tip and accompany her in song, weaving a moment of musical magic and connection.
Clarkson shared the delightful encounter on Instagram, writing, “I was on my way to soundcheck for @iHeartRadio tonight in Vegas and was tipping this incredible woman killing some Tina Turner. And then she asked me to sing and had no clue who I was.”
The video captured the moment the woman recognized the singing sensation, her face lighting up with surprise and joy.
“And then it hit her, and it made my day!” Clarkson continued enthusiastically, “She gives the best hugs and sings her tail off! See ya tonight Vegas ❤️ #iHeartFestival2023.”
The clip showcases the American Idol winner harmonizing to “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” with the woman dancing and clapping, her spirit uplifted by the unexpected duet.
The street musician’s realization was a sight to behold; she paused, pointed at Clarkson, and let out a scream of sheer delight.

“I was like, ‘You sound so good!’” Clarkson told the woman, hugging her once more.

Reflecting on this touching moment on the Today show, she expressed, “It was the most magical thing to be on stage [with them]… They had so much fun on stage… But then how they were looking at me was like I was Thor! I literally was like, ‘Oh my God, they’re literally never going to look at me like this again.’”
