It’s a stressful world out there, and sometimes we need an escape. But wouldn’t it be nice if that escape was to an entirely different year? I mean, it is 2020 after all!

While you might not be able to turn back the hands of time – there is a way to feel like you’ve been blasted into the past…

Nils Andrén and Bianca Locatelli are talented dancers and instructors from Sweden with a passion for the world of swing.

Both Nils and Bianca began dancing as children, although they didn’t meet until they were a little older. According to the pair’s website, Bianca moved from Italy to Sweden at 16-years-old, which is when they met and started dancing together as partners.

Each has a list of various dances they’ve been trained in, from ballet to hip hop. However, Nils and Bianca are simply over the moon about two dance styles in particular – the Lindy Hop and the Boogie Woogie!

Nils and Bianca are champion dancers who’ve won titles both at home and abroad. They took the floor at the Rock That Swing Festival in Germany for a Lindy Hop performance.

When you see them in action you’re going to wonder if you time-traveled to another decade.

Nils and Bianca are dressed in vintage clothing, which adds to the fun of it all.

The Lindy Hop is a dance style that originated in Harlem, New York during the 1920s and 30s, and it’s part of the swing family. On The Lindy Circle website they explain:

“The dance can be wild and spontaneous, with frenzied kicks and body movements, or it can be cool and sophisticated. The most important aspects of it are that it is danced with your partner, to the music, and that you enjoy it!”

There’s no question that Nils and Bianca are having a blast.

The moment their performance begins, their bodies morph into rubber and they light the dance floor on fire. In the background is the jazzy song “Shake That Thing,” which blends perfectly with the style.
