Weddings are more than a celebration of the bride and groom’s love for each other. A wedding is a way for the new couple to include their family, friends, and loved ones in their marriage. You’ll never guess how this creative couple included their bridesmaids and groomsmen in their ceremony.
This couple from Albany, Texas, wanted to find a fun way to include all of their best friends in their wedding ceremony. They decided to think outside the box – instead of having the bridesmaids and groomsmen show their love with toasts, these honored guests were going to be a part of the couple’s first song! The wedding entourage coordinated a dance battle that would take place after a sweet slow dance from the new couple.
The two lovebirds started out on a more serious note, slow dancing to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. The groom twirled his elegant bride around the room, allowing the entire audience to feel the love flowing between them. The couple was all smiles during their song together, but the real fun was just getting started.
As the song came to a close, the DJ cut the music with a loud ringing sound. The couple pretended to be confused for a few moments before they separated to opposite sides of the dance floor. The groom joined his fellows one one end, and the bride disappeared into a line of bridesmaids on the other end. The music changed, and the next step to the first dance began.
The groom stood off-center on the floor, dancing and lip singing to “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye. After a few lines of the song’s introduction, the bride took over. She responded to her husband by inviting her bridesmaids to dance with her to “Let’s Get It Started” by The Black-Eyed Peas. The battle was on.
What came next was a clever mashup of several hit songs. Both sides competed for the love of the crowd. The men bopped their heads to the beat of “What is Love” by Haddaway while the women clapped and twisted to “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice. The audience members absolutely adored the display.
The two lovebirds were thrilled that they could include their friends and family in their celebration in such a unique way. “As a married couple we may face some battles,” the wife shared to Newsflare, “but we hope we can dance them away like our very first one!”
This is truly a couple who loves each other. It is inspiring to see people who bring so much creativity and passion to the situations in their lives.
