The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have named them the “Best Dance Team” in 2017. Are you ready to find out why?

Meet the Southlake Carroll Varsity Emerald Belles.

The team comes from Carroll Senior High in Southlake, Texas and they are some of the most talented dancers in the entire country. Did you know that they have won many state, national and international titles?

Under the direction of Melissa Page for the past 20+ years, they have become very dedicated and professional dancers.

And it’s hard to believe they’re only in high school!

“It takes more than talent to make this team of champions… [W]hat makes this team so special is not just the height of our kicks, but the way we treat others inside and outside of our 6:45 AM practices. Mrs. Page fosters an environment of kindness and positivity and believes in empowering her girls to realize the importance of showing compassion to their teammates as well as their peers in school and in the community. This message has become the team motto: #bekind #beabelle,” the Emerald Belles described themselves.

Their talent has taken them all over the country and has appeared in different shows.

They’ve been on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Good Morning Texas, and have performed with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders during the Holiday Halftime program.

They’ve also made it to the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent in 2019. And it didn’t matter if they won or not.

They wanted to use their stint at AGT to spread their kind message.

“To spread this idea, every week teammates nominate a Belle who has shown exemplary acts of love and compassion to receive the “Be kind, Be a Belle” award. We want to use our platform from America’s Got Talent to spread kindness and the importance of mental health in high school,” the Emerald Belles wrote on their website.

In this video, 80 members of their team have taken to the stage to show what the Belles are made of.

They started their performance in different areas in different positions. What are we going to expect from their performance in this video?

Inspired by different types of dreams, including fantasies, nightmares, whimsical, and lucid dreams, the Belles’ performance quickly progressed into a united one. They locked shoulders and banded together.

And they did what they do best. They kicked those legs high up in the air!

It’s amazing how synced up all of their moves are. They really look like one unit working together. Only a team that trusts everyone in the team can deliver a performance like that.

Director Page knows that trust is important. That’s why she makes sure each member’s mental health is nurtured and helped.

“Mrs. Page realized that the best way to effectively help others in our community who are struggling is to first focus on her own teammates’ mental health… we can’t help others if we cannot help ourselves. This is why we have not only focused on giving back to our community, but we also focus on our health by bringing in a life coach once a month so each girl can become more in tune with herself and what she needs to live a life of gratitude and happiness,” the Belles explained.

And they always clap-out their practices and performances with this affirmation and motivation.

““Cause we’re Belle sisters
We stick together
(whoop whoop)
We make up one big family
But we don’t kick the same
Our kicks are different
(whoop whoop)
Different levels
(whoop whoop)
We make each other stronger
That ain’t never gonna change
Cause we’re Belle sisters
And we’re Belles and we’re sisters.”
