Blues enthusiasts might agree that there is not enough blues music on the air.
The good news is that three men shared that opinion and started the Bluesmoose Radio in 2004. The project has grown a lot since then, and now it has even evolved into a music festival.
Ben Poole decides to perform at one 2012 Bluesmoose fest but then decided that recordings won’t be released.
Luckily, there is a soundboard recording and you’ll love it. Poole is currently being described as one of the most exciting rock, blues and soul artists out there.
Everyone who’s into blues music has probably heard of Ben Poole, the man who became a superstar almost overnight.
Poole is originally from the United Kingdom, and his debut album Live at the Royal Albert Hall came out in 2014. It means that he was invited to perform at the Bluesmoose fest long before he even had an album release.
We love to know that there many projects out there that support artists on the rise.
Poole said that his inspiration comes from his heroes: Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart and Stevie Ray Vaughan. With three albums under his belt, Poole doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon—and he shouldn’t.
The talented fellow was chosen to represent the UK in 2012 at the European Blues Challenge in Berlin.
He was also mentored by guitarist Gary Moore, who said that Poole is “a really good player.”
During one interview, Poole said that Moore gave him the best advice ever when he told him to listen to gaps in guitar playing to get a better feel for the music. Judging by the quality of his skills, we guess that Poole took the advice very seriously and turned it into gold! Many people commented that Poole’s live shows are energetic, and go beyond your wildest expectations.
It’s so true—the video is filled with so much energy, it makes you feel like the screen is about to explode!
Ben’s powerful voice sums up the beauty of the blues, and his bandmates are excellent too. Too bad this is the soundboard recording, which means you won’t hear any reaction from the audience. We bet that the crowd was screaming in excitement and singing along!
Jimi Hendrix would be proud.
For those who don’t recognize it, Poole is playing “Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix.
It’s an amazing rendition of the popular track—he gave his touch to it without messing up with the original’s sound. Great shredding, a lot of creativity and a nice, powerful style.
It’s a brilliant gig you’ll probably remember for a long time.
Most of you probably didn’t even know that a telecaster could rock like this, but that’s the perfect tone right there. It feels great to be reminded of some awesome blues.
Since it was posted, this simple performance earned more than two million YouTube views.
Poole is not pretentious and his stage appearance is simple.
It’s obvious that the man just came to play his guitar and to enjoy it to the fullest. The video was uploaded in 2012, and a lot of people commented that it was the first time they’ve heard of him.
When we checked out some of his newest videos, we’ve seen that his popularity has grown a lot!
He’s an artist that has international tours, and if you’re interested to know more, check out his official website.
