Who wouldn’t want to enjoy live music and be able to help charities at the same time?
This is the goal of the Sound Relief Concert. The multi-venue rock music concert was organized to raise funds to help those who were affected by the Victorian bushfires.
The concert was held simultaneously at the Sydney Cricket Ground and in Melbourne Cricket Ground.
All of the proceeds from the Melbourne Cricket Ground and half of the proceeds from the Sydney Concert went to Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Then, the other half of the Sydney Concert Ground proceeds were donated to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
Some of the featured Melbourne Cricket Ground artists consisted of Paul Kelly, Liam Finn, Wolfmother, Midnight Oil, and Kylie Minogue.
Now, for the Sydney Cricket Ground, some of the artists included Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Jet, The Presets, and of course, the main event, the duet of Barry Gibb with Olivia Newton-John.
You may already be a fan of the British-American songwriter, musician, and record producer, Barry Gibb, who is also known as one of the co-founders of the group Bee Gees.

So you would be thrilled to know that he sang a couple of his well-loved songs at this concert.
After a few songs, the crowd cheered as they saw the stunning Olivia Newton-John, who is known for her iconic role in Grease, went up to the stage to join Barry Gibb.
We’re pretty sure you are familiar with the song “Island in the Stream,” right? Who wouldn’t?

It’s one of the songs where you can just close your eyes and enjoy it any time of the day. After all, it is one of the most loved songs.
So, if you are a fan of this amazing group, then you will also appreciate Barry and Olivia’s live version.
The audience started cheering as they heard the song’s intro playing; then we hear Barry introduce his very beautiful partner, Olivia.
Olivia’s lively smile instantly brightens the whole crowd!
Singing live is not easy. That’s one of the reasons why we love this performance.
Some artists aren’t comfortable singing in crowds because they are scared of singing out of tune. Then, not all artists can sing continuously without compromising the quality of the song and the music itself.
These two legends are different. The quality of their voices is beyond beautiful.
They complement each other, and we just love how beautiful their voices blend.
Barry and Olivia serenaded the crowd with their beautiful rendition of “Island in the Stream,” and everyone cheered with satisfaction.
Imagine yourself being one of the lucky ones in this concert.
Being able to enjoy live music and knowing that you were able to help charities will give you a very happy feeling.
Now, that’s hitting two birds with one stone, or should we say ticket.
We are pretty sure that you will hit that play button more than once because that is what we did.
Enjoy their timeless duet with this beloved classic below!
