There is a never-ending loop of what the “old days” is and what good, old-fashioned music.

Once enough time has passed, even our generation’s music will be the “good old days” in 20 years from now. Playing off that idea, one barbershop quartet decided to plan a performance that could reinvigorate the genre.

And they did it by harmonizing a medley of classic and 2015 pop songs.

The group in question is one of the most famous barbershop quartets in the world, Main Street.

Watching Main Street perform makes you admire each of their talents and have a great laugh at the same time. They harmonized each song effortlessly and still managed to put on a show to their audience by hilariously injecting humorous skits in their medley.

The oldies plus current pop medley was pulled off hilariously by this acapella quartet.

In this video, the quartet begins with an introduction about how songs today will become the classics 20 years from now. In their intro, they explained that they will show the audience a glimpse of the songs as described to be the “good ol’ songs.”

With an unexpected twist, they kicked off with a version of Britney Spear’s classic, “Oops, I Did It Again.”

The group tried to be as sassy as possible with their little dance as they sang it, and made the people laugh.

Then, they transitioned to NSYNC’s “Bye, Bye, Bye” in an arpeggio where they lifted their hats whenever they sang a patterned series of notes to the word “bye.”

They followed that with “So What” by Pink and a very serious and emotional harmonizing of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” which they acted out dramatically, leaving the crowd laughing.

Moving on to the near-finale, they all repeatedly chanted “Twenty years from…” without finishing the actual sentence only to sidetrack to another song.

They first switched to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” while using their hands to imitate a mascara.

Then they moved on to “Moves Like Jagger,” by Maroon 5, “All About that Bass,” by Meghan Trainor, and “Gangnam Style” by PSY.

Lastly, they did Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” where Tom hilariously imitated Michael Jackson’s infamous crotch-grab when he pulled a high note. Before ending their show, they left the audience with a beautifully executed farewell message.

One YouTube commenter shared his sentiments about this performance saying:

“I like to imagine the Earth thousands of years from now. Bored teenagers looking for old music to make new and trendy, skimming through centuries of music representing hundreds of distinct cultures. Then one of them stumbles across some barbershop quartet and is absolutely blown away. He needs to tell his friends on Mars about this.”

This Orlando-based quartet has ruled the internet with its sophisticated and humorous singing.
