This incredible Brazilian dancer does everything with ease without the use of her hands.
Vitoria Bueno was born without arms but that hasn’t stopped her from taking the spotlight and impressing millions of people around the world.
She has come a long way at her young age, and by the looks of it, really is one fearless young woman.
Talk about defying all the odds.
Odds stacked against her.
She was just five when her mother took her to a dance studio after discovering Vitoria’s love for dancing.
Her dance instructor shared that dancing came naturally to the young Vitoria, even recalling the time when she came as a cute and happy 5-year-old to her dance studio.
She has since been accompanying Vitoria as her instructor and interpreter as Bueno takes part in different shows.
The admiration and love for each other shows.
The 18-year-old placed second in Brazil’s talent show, Das Supertalent Season 15. Vitoria says that the win made her believe even more in her potential.
And that it inspired her to continue pursuing her dreams of becoming a great performer.
Bueno now stands on the America’s Got Talent stage. A show that commands a lot of attention and a lot more viewers.
She is a little nervous but it certainly doesn’t look like it as she shares her story with the judges care of her translator and dance instructor.
Born with the genetic defect, Vitoria did not allow her condition to stop her from enjoying life or deter her from pursuing her passion for dancing.
She says life has been normal for her as she gracefully adjusted to the life around her despite obvious physical drawbacks.
Whatever everyone else did with their hands, she would do with her feet.
Bueno, however, dances even better than most people with hands which are actually needed to balance the body.
This 18-year-old inspired the judges and fans with a stunning and elegant routine done to Lauren Daigle’s “You Say” that had Bueno twirling and leaping across the AGT stage in a tutu.
A collective hush came over the audience as they sat there with jaws dropped along with the three judges.
Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell were visibly emotional.
Bueno has the stage presence, her fantastic dancing mesmerizing everyone in attendance, including host Terry Crews.
And when she was done with her amazing performance?
Judge Heidi commented, “You are beautiful, you have so much poise, so much of elegance. It was so beautiful to watch.”
Mandel commended Bueno’s technique saying, “We didn’t even see a second of faltering. It’s amazing the amount of strength and elegance that you put in.”
“The sign of a star is someone who perseveres and then, when they’re on stage, lights up the stage, and you have both of those things,” Cowell told her. “When you were performing in here it was like complete silence because we were mesmerized. And I think the whole of Brazil and now the whole of America is gonna be rooting for you. You are an All-Star.”
Vitoria’s tears flowed as she received a standing ovation.
Even YouTube viewers were left stunned,
“That was an incredible performance. She is extremely talented, and her performance was breathtaking. I hope this will inspire everyone to follow their dreams. We need to let her be an example to not take anything for granted or make excuses in life.” says a viewer.
What did you think of Vitoria’s dancing?
Bueno embraced dancing at a young age hence her talent.
She even learned “en pointe” (on the tips of her toes), which is as one of the judges, Howie Mandel, pointed out, is no easy feat when you don’t have arms to help provide balance.
Bueno may have gotten a standing ovation, but she did not advance.
However, her positive spirit still radiated after her amazing dance.
“What an incredible day!!!” she said in a caption, translated from Portuguese. “Watching my presentation on AGT makes me think of all the times watching other incredible talent and wondering if I would ever step on the same stage…Thanks to all of you who cheer and vibe with me, your affection makes me believe every day!”
