Audrey Hepbun could sing, dance, act and speak several languages.
On top of that, she was a great humanitarian and the definition of beauty and grace.
In this short clip from Secret People, one of Hepburn’s first significant film role, she got to show off some gracious ballet moves!
The early performance is just as iconic as the actress herself.
For those who don’t know, Hepburn trained ballet from a very young age.
The iconic star was born in 1929 in Belgium.
After a lot of turmoil during World War II, her family moved to Amsterdam where she began ballet training under Sonia Gaskell, a leading figure in Dutch ballet and Russian teacher Olga Tarasova. She shortly performed as a chorus girl in West End musical theatre production, after which she had minor appearances in several films.
One of the greatest female screen legends in Golden Age Hollywood rose to stardom in the 1953 romantic comedy Roman Holiday.
She later went on to star in a number of successful films like Sabrina, The Nun’s Story, Funny Face and, of course, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Much of her time, later in life, was devoted to UNICEF projects and humanitarian work.
Hepburn worked in some of the poorest communities of Africa, Asia and South America.
Her hard work earned her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992. This fantastic lady passed away at the age of 63, at her home in Switzerland.
In this movie, Hepburn portrays Valentina Cortese’s younger sister, a talented ballet dancer.
As the video begins, she looks at the camera and winks at the audience.
After that, she proceeds to dance as everyone’s eyes are glued to her.
She did an incredible job here, and her starpower was already in full effect! If you’re a fan of Audrey Hepburn and haven’t seen the film yet, we suggest you do.
Even so, the movie is not as naïve as it might seem.
We would say it’s a well-paced spy film that tackles politics and the regimes of the time with various moral and personal tensions.
Hepburn was only 23 years old when the film was made, and she certainly looks young in the clip.
The video shows an adorable young actress at the beginning of her story, with a touch of Hollywood glamour to her. In all, it’s a pleasure to watch!
The best moment is her dance moves—all her talent comes to light as her feet sway over the dance floor.
Hepburn was the definition of elegance in every movie she appeared in.
That’s how people always described her, since she was known for her fashion choices and distinctive look.
In 1954, she was declared “the public embodiment of a new feminine ideal” in Vogue. The title of fashion icon followed Hepburn throughout her whole life, and her film costumes fetch large sums of money in auctions.
The video was seen almost a quarter a million times on YouTube, and all the comments are simply adorable.
In 2004, Hepburn was named “the most beautiful woman of all time” in polls by Evian. It’s easy to understand why, and we’re happy to tell the story of one of the most beautiful women of the 20th century!
Audrey’s legacy lives on, not only because of her beauty—she also had a golden heart!
