lfie Andrews is a 12-year-old kid with scruffy hair who goes about in standard tween uniform of jeans and a T-shirt.
He looks no different from other boys his age who will stay up late playing video games and riding bikes out on the streets.
Except this kid has an exceptional voice.
Alfie is from the United Kingdom, but he came to AGT with his “auntie” since his parents couldn’t make the trip due to work commitments.
This is one trip that was so worth it.
“My name is Alfie Andrew. I’m 12 years old and I’m from Manchester, England. I am a singer.” he said backstage before going out in front of the judges.
“I started singing when I was zero years old.”
Alfie really wants to become a singer.
“My audition on America’s Got Talent, it means a lot, ’cause it’s always been my dream to become a singer so I can record my own songs and have a sell-out tour.” he shared.
Andrew knew he had to win the judges with a good first impression.
So he chose an outfit that immediately won Judge Simon Cowell over, a classic black T-shirt and jeans, similar to Cowell’s own regular uniform.
And the esteemed judge loved it.
“Can I say something? They way you dress, you are so cool,” Cowell told Andrews when he stepped out on stage.“Honestly, it just works. You look super, super cool.”
“Thank you,” Andrew responded visibly happy.
Alfie may have had an early start with his music career, but musical talent was not something that ran in his family.
His dad worked on cars while his mom worked on nails.
Alfie then had the spotlight and he sang a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand,” impressing the four judges with his Lady Gaga cover.
He hits insanely high notes!
The boy admitted he was “nervous” to step out, but this isn’t the first time the Manchester native has sang for a large crowd.
He’s a busker in the streets of Manchester.
Andrews isn’t afraid to take on songs from some of the greatest vocal artists in music history.
He has a YouTube channel and Facebook account where he covers hits from Whitney Houston, Adele, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Lady Gaga herself.
And what a voice for a 12-year-old.
The judges were full of praises.
“Wow, Alfie, I mean, you can really sing,” Klum said. “You just nailed it.”
Cowell commended him for his “very distinct” voice.
“I think you made the right decision to come here,” he said. “The people are going to remember you and they’re going to root for you and you’re so cool, I just can’t get over that.”
Naturally, Alfie got four “yes” votes, and Cowell even got up on stage to stand next to him in their matching outfits.
The crowd broke out into “Alfie” chants, getting the young boy emotional.
He’s one singer we will be seeing more of for sure.
