This is The X Factor Israel. It is the “holy land” that always receives visitors from Jews, Christians and Muslims.

It’s a land rich in history and controversy, one often fought over by many different parties.

But if there is one thing that unites this world, it’s music.

Paul Simon wrote the song for many months between 1963 and 1964.

The lyrics are open to interpretation from whoever is listening to it since it could mean anything to anyone.

And that is the beauty of this song. To think it was a flop initially.

In 1965, the song began to play over the airwaves once again, prompting Tom Wilson, the producer, to remix the track.

Simon and Garfunkel had no idea of what was going on.

From 1967 onwards, the song found itself in movies and in many top ten lists around the world.
