Whenever children have some kind of special talent, that gift should be nurtured and encouraged.
Angelina Jordan is a perfect example. Though she’s only eight years old, Jordan was capable to blow the audience away with her talent.
The adorable girl is originally from Norway and her “Fly Me To The Moon” performance on the talk show The View was one of her first TV appearances in the United States.
As the clip begins, the young musical miracle is welcomed by Rosie O’Donnell.
When Angelina came to The View, the audience was charmed by her right away.
O’Donnell first asks her a couple of questions and finds out a lot about this sweet child during the short interview. Jordan says that she started singing early when she was one and a half years old. What’s even more amazing is that she started with jazz. We must admit, there aren’t many toddlers out there captivated by jazz and singing their hearts out!
She even won Norway’s Got Talent in 2014.
The little girl comes out barefoot and it’s clear that she’s a bit nervous. It all changes, though, once she gets the mic. It’s the whole new world, the girl was born to be on the scene.
In all, this girl has a very powerful, mature voice.
If you’re like us, you were knocked down when Angelina began to sing.
It’s hard to believe that such a young child has a powerful voice and feels the jazz the way she does. The young lady quickly gets into the groove, and the song fits her perfectly. We’re guessing that Frank Sinatra would’ve approved of her cover! O’Donnell said it perfectly:
“Here in America, we enjoy eight-year-old girls who can sing like you.”
As this clip came out a long time ago, Jordan is 14 years old now and has already released multiple singles, one EP, and an album called It’s Magic.
Still, Jordan refuses to be signed to any record label while she’s still growing up.
As long as she goes on with singing, we’re happy for her. Jordan proves that a language barrier doesn’t exist when it comes to singing!
The amazing Norwegian singer sings in the perfect English language.
We were able to see, once again, that people who are not native English speakers can sing in English without any difficulties. The music unites us all and is a universal language that speaks directly to the heart. Jordan, accompanied by a guitar, delivers a perfect cover of Sinatra’s famous song. The audience rewards her with one of the biggest rounds of applause we’ve heard in a while. People love her, and we can understand why.
As it turns out, there’s a reason why Jordan always performs barefoot.
In 2015, Jordan even published a book called Between Two Hearts.
The book is about one particular time when Jordan met a poor orphan in Asia who had no shoes. The two girls had a long conversation about their dreams in life and they befriended each other. It’s a true story, and Jordan gave the girl her shoes. In return, the girl promised to pray for Jordan to fulfill her dreams of becoming a successful singer. We can see that it turned out like a dream, and Jordan is on a very good track!
