For starters, it would be very rare to find a piano in a school lunchroom.
So it’s either the school’s management are willing to risk it and leave an expensive instrument at the mercy of angsty teenagers, or someone put one there for a reason.
They must know what they are doing!
And also, that’s a cool lunchroom with drink dispensers and stuff.
Do you remember your school’s lunchroom?
Now usually, kids will eat and hang with their friends as they talk about their day and what they plan to do after the bell rings.
But put a really good pianist there and it all changes quickly.
His name is Andy Morris and he is pretty famous for good reason.
This Indiana based pianist got his start on TikTok but he is really young so he doesn’t look out of place in a lunchroom.
The students grab their food, sit, and eat away up until Morris begins playing and heads turn.
Three songs in succession: Viva La Vida by Coldplay, Glimpse of Us by Joji, and Mia and Sebastian’s theme from the musical film La La Land.
Phones come out while they eat but Morris just plays his heart out, enjoying the music and the moment.
A nice comment from a viewer stated,
“Love it. As singer Eddie Cochran once said… ” Sir, I could play the same song to thirty people in a room , and it’d have a different meaning to everyone of them. That’s why I write and play music”.’
And how many kids were in that room?
Those are very bewildered and shocked faces once Morris hit a few keys in succession though.

Morris plays and while a few ignore him, many are more than entertained by the young pianists talent.
Who doesn’t enjoy eating with good music?
As this viewer put it,
“Wow that was beautiful and no sheet music. Awesome job. I am impressed that schools actually have Band and electives as a lot of them are eliminating them due to budget cuts.
This young man along with all the students is why they should keep them. Keep on playing the world is a better place with music. Again awesome piano playing.”

Now of course you can’t expect kids today to care or pay attention for more than 5 minutes, as evidenced by all those faces buried in cellphones, but the rare few knew Morris is special.
Those are the kids who will stop and appreciate real beauty without the synthetic feel of a gadget and grow up the same.
Or at least we hope they do.
Andy Morris may be popular on social media but that’s because he’s got pure talent on his hands.
Literally on his hands and the tip of his fingers.
It’s highly possible he got a few numbers from some of those female admirers of his too!
