Have you ever wondered how creators come up with the music for cartoons?
Is it a hard, complex process, or is it a funny process? How much time does it take, and has it gone through some kind of evolution since cartoons first became popular at the beginning of the 20th century?
We found a guy who can answer all those questions with a stunning piano performance.
As it turns out, he has the biggest piano-related YouTube channel in the world.
Known as Lord Vinheteiro, the popular Brazilian pianist has drawn more than six million people to his YouTube channel.
The content is incredibly engaging, from playing The Simpsons’ theme song on the piano to meme music—not to mention a video where he installs an engine on his piano. You’ll also find video lessons for beginners, some tutorials and experiments on playing piano compositions on other instruments.
Fabricio Vinheteiro has a veterinarian college degree, but his passion for music prevailed.
He began playing the piano when he was eight, but he also learned to play the violin and accordion—all on his own. Today, Vinheteiro is a pianist, composer and music producer.
He’s the founder of Lord Music Academy as a result of his passion for spreading the knowledge.
The Academy began as a small home studio, in 2010. For more information about the academy and the available courses, visit the official website.
In his performance, Vinheteiro managed to cover many cartoon theme songs from the 1920s to today.
It’s an amazing thing to hear all those compositions one by one because it gives some insight into just how much music has evolved. If we heard those songs on their own without comparing them to songs from different decades, we wouldn’t be able to see any significant patterns.
The video is simple: it begins with Fabricio at his piano.
He’s filming at home and it’s clear to see “Lord Vinheteiro” written on his piano in bold red letters. It all begins with the 1928 Mickey Mouse song, then he goes on to the 1933 Popeye song, then the 1940 Woody Woodpecker, 1942 Mighty Mouse, 1984 Muppets Baby and the 1989 Mario theme. You’ll also hear music from the 1992’s show Sailor Moon, 1997’s Digimon and One Piece from 1999.
For many people, it’s the sound of the music they all loved and enjoyed as kids.
The video brings so many great memories, and it feels amazing to be reminded of your childhood with the use of some familiar sounds. The way Vinheteiro looks at the camera with so much focus gives a special charm to it all. He even whistles occasionally, and it’s all wonderfully put together.
The first cartoon ever, Fantastmagorie, was created in 1908—but it wasn’t until the late 1920s that music was brought to picture.
The whole concept of music accompanying animated series pioneered in the late 1920s and 1930s by Carl Stalling and Raymond Scott. It became known as “Mickey-Mousing” within the industry, and music has been written closely tp picture ever since.
Vinheteiro’s content was displayed several times by 9gag, and Unilad.
You’ll quickly conclude that there’s a viral video expert in front of us.
The internet loves Fabricio—several memes on 9gag were inspired by him and his channel has been accessed over 600 million times. He’s gained worldwide fame, and only 10 percent of his audience is Brazilian. The man is also a brand specialist for Modartt and Arturia. Lord Vinheteiro lives through the music, and it’s quite visible all over his social media content.
