Allie Sherlock is only 15 years old, but the Cork, Ireland singer’s viral YouTube videos have earned her tens of millions of views and counting.
While she’s signed to a record label, you can still often find her right where she started – on the famous Grafton Street. The Dublin pedestrian shopping street has seen performances by the likes of Bono as well, so buskers have a good chance of being noticed if they’re good enough.
Viral success
Now she’s going viral again for a cover of the great Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely.”
(She also went viral a few weeks back for her duet of “Unchained Melody” with fellow busker Cuan Durkin too – it has earned 9.2 million views in just 3 weeks!)
But a video she uploaded with her “new band” in August 2020 has already earned 3.4 million views. It’s titled “HIS VOICE IS GORGEOUS – Stevie Wonder – Isn’t She Lovely | Allie Sherlock, Fabio & Jason cover”
And she captioned the video:
“Welcome to our new band! In this video we are performing Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. It’s me, Allie Sherlock, performing with Fabio Rodrigues & Jason Mcnamara. Enjoy!”
Tremendous trio
We don’t know how permanent Sherlock’s new bandmates are (she’s performed both solo and with other artists since), but she’s right when she says she got some serious vocals backing her up.
“Isn’t She Lovely” appeared on Stevie Wonder’s 1976 album, Songs in the Key of Life in honor of his new daughter Aisha Morris. You’ve no doubt heard it at a wedding during a father-daughter dance.
While Sherlock takes the lead on vocals, it really is Fabio Rodrigues that stops people walking by in their tracks.
He’s also a singer-songwriter who spends time busking on Grafton Street – and he’s covered artists from Whitney Houston to Bruno Mars.
And street drummer Jason McNamara is a familiar sight on the Dublin street as well!

They make a pretty amazing trio.
Rodrigues’ voice is not only incredible, but he has amazing guitar skills as well.
“I play guitar and sing, but this guy blows me away. What he is doing is not easy at all. Incredible. He is incredibly gifted,” said one viewer.
Many people were even more effusive with their praise:
“That guy with a guitar had his soul connected to the guitar itself.”
