There are duets and then there are duets. Some artists sing well together but that’s mostly what it’s all about. Great artists like Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion have moved audiences with their incredible singing. Other artists collaborate with certain singers for the talent and of course, the cash.

But they don’t have that spark, that connection audiences love to see and talk about.

Unlike Allie Sherlock and Cuan Durkin here.

And they’re performing “Can’t help falling in love” by Elvis Presley. Sparks, I tell you.

Both are buskers who perform frequently on Grafton Street, Dublin. Allie started to gain followers and fans when a video of her performing a cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers” went viral on YouTube in June 2017. In 2018, she appeared on Ellen.

Cuan met Allie on Grafton Street. It is a place where up and coming Irish singers need to prove themselves. Like a rite of passage. Located in the heart of Dublin, Grafton Street is a wildly popular shopping street.

Locals and tourists frequent the area so when they stop because of a performer, it means that the singer is worth the time.

It is Cuan who plucks the iconic intro on his guitar but while he’s doing so, Allie looks up at him and the two exchange a very sweet smile. It’s a look and smile we’re all familiar with.

And right on cue, Cuan begins,

“Wise men say
Only fools rush in
But I can’t help falling in love with you”

Now who do you think he’s thinking of while singing this?

Let’s focus on Cuan’s voice for a bit. He’s definitely had training. His is a rich, deep voice that’s so honey thick, it’s like pouring your favorite syrup on freshly made pancakes. Allie probably likes pancakes…

Just look at the way she looks at him while he sings!

And with another knowing smile at each other, Allie takes over.

“Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin
If I can’t help falling in love with you?”

People are stopping to watch now. This is getting real good!

It’s a really sweet duet. The song, the place, the singers… Tell me there’s nothing going on between these two. It is normal for artists to look at each other during a duet, but not like this.

Not the way these two grin at each other.

This was uploaded on Allie’s channel, and guess what? She pinned a comment by a viewer. What does the comment say?

“The chemistry is exploding with this adorable pair.. Beautiful!!”

You know, Cuan, when a girl pins a comment like that… “Some things are just meant to be.”

It’s a given that these two are talented singers. Allie’s voice is wonderful and adds a velvety blend to Cuan’s operatic tone. But you can’t help but shake the feeling that behind the song and the singing, there’s just a little bit more. Like a blossoming friendship.
