While many kids dream of being stars, most don’t take to the streets to showcase their musical skills— but Allie Sherlock isn’t just any teen.
The 13-year-old from Cork, Ireland, is a talented singer whose face is well known amongst the residents of her town.
Sherlock, who has been playing guitar for the past three years, is an experienced busker, often taking to the city’s streets to share her talents with the crowds. Described as the “Next Adele”, she originally blew up when her rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers” went viral after being shared online.
The incredible performance earned her an invitation to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and she’s only gotten more popular since then.
On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Sherlock serenaded the crowd before chatting with Ellen who mentions how people have been comparing her to Adele.
“That is really incredible because I absolutely love Adele,” Sherlock replied.

Of the appearance, Sherlock later said:
“I absolutely love her show and she was just so nice and friendly.”
In the end, the talk show house gifted Sherlock with a guitar case equipped with the word ‘TIPS’ in light-up letters— the perfect gift for a busker!
Just weeks after appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Sherlock announced she had signed a three-album record deal with Ryan Tedder.
“Ryan Tedder is like the main singer in the band OneRepublic and a producer and a songwriter,” she revealed.
“He writes for Ed Sheeran and Adele mostly and then a few others, Sam Mendes, U2, Beyoncé and Paul McCartney.” and Paul McCartney.”
Although her popularity has skyrocketed, Sherlock hasn’t let the newfound fame get to her head. She still often busks on the streets of Cork, uploading the videos to her YouTube channel.
Two months ago, another of Sherlock’s performances went viral.
The video, which has been viewed nearly 2 million times, features the teen performing Adele’s song “Hello”.
Released in October of 2015 as part of Adele’s third studio album, “Hello” is a ballad describing themes of nostalgia and regret. The song skyrocketed to the tops of nearly every chart, being named one of the best-selling singles of all -time by The Global Music Report.
Despite her young age, Allie showcases a voice that is beyond her years.
The rich, velvety sounds are a perfect match to the song’s soulful content— and people just can’t get enough.
As mentioned, the song has already garnered nearly 2 million views and is a testament to this young girl’s bright future.
