The art of musical impressions is not easy.
Adam Lambert is a true artist, however, and when he was asked to sing “The Muffin Man” while doing an impression of Cher, he knocked it out of the park.
Lambert took part in a segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon titled “Wheel of Musical Impressions.”
A big wheel, similar to what is used on Wheel of Fortune, was spun and a nursery rhyme was paired up with the famous singer.
The wheel landed on “Muffin Man” and “Cher.” What a combo!
The audience couldn’t believe what happened next
Adam Lambert is a famous singer and songwriter.
He got his big break on the eighth season of American Idol, so he is no stranger to performing on a big stage.

It’s clear that Lambert is a big Cher fan as well.
He didn’t hesitate for one second to deliver a spot-on impression of how she sings.
He then seamlessly weaved Cher’s voice into his performance of The Muffin Man.
The tune used was from Cher’s smash hit, “Believe.”
Do you know the Muffin Man?
It’s actually pretty amazing that the Muffin Man nursery rhyme has become as famous as it is.
Muffin Men were often retired bakers or the sons of bakers who went around town selling muffins.
“The ‘muffin man’ brought muffins and crumpets from a local baker and sold them at a profit. He would walk around London’s streets selling his muffins to people at the cost of half a penny each and he might even deliver them to wealthier homes,” states the Museum of London.
The full version of the song also asks the listener if they know the Ice Cream Man and the Fruit Stand Man as well.
The Muffin Man is still the focal part of the song, however.
Seemingly, the song could just go on forever asking children if they know different people based on their profession.
So, how did Adam do singing the nursery rhyme while channeling his inner Cher? Let’s just say he nailed it!
Cher once praised another one of Adam Lambert’s performances
In 2018, Adam performed “Believe” at the 41st Annual Kennedy Center Honors as a tribute to Cher. It was incredibly moving!

Adam Lambert’s musical career
While he’s not quite as famous as Cher, Lambert is a world-renowned singer.
He has sold over 3 million albums and 5 million songs worldwide.
He also had the honor of performing along with the surviving members of Queen since 2011.
The act has produced two live albums.
A documentary on the group titled “The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story” was produced in 2019.
