There are some performances that we watch on talent audition shows that are so amazing and powerful that we will remember them for years to come. This, my friends, is most certainly one of those performances.
In May of 2019, a young couple from Cuba left a mark on the judges of Britain’s Got Talent – along with anyone that watched their performance that night.
The couple, aged 23- and 27-years-old, call themselves Dust in the Wind. And during this particular performance, they would be doing an acrobatic dance routine to Kelly Clarkson’s version of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.
The eager and confident couple took the stage knowing that they had to do their best to impress Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, and David Walliams. After all, they would need to receive three yeses if they were going to make it to the next round.
Right off the bat, they make Simon smile when they said they thought Britain’s Got Talent was the greatest show in the world.
You know right away by their song choice that whatever they are going to do – it’s going to be an emotional performance. Just moments into the routine, you can see that these two young Cuban artists are extremely talented. You can also feel the love that these two have for each other as they dance.
After the intro of the song has ended, Dust in the Wind starts to really shine when they begin to display that they don’t only dance – they perform acrobatics as well. He lifts her up with the greatest of ease, she holds on with just one arm – immediately, the crowd goes wild.
It’s impossible not to bite your nails when watching the couple perform gravity-defying move after gravity-defying move.
Once the routine ended, the judges were clearly thoroughly impressed by the entire performance.
“I shudder to think what you get up to behind closed doors. We have seen other acrobatic acts but not in such a romantic setting as the one you just did,” said David. “It was really just so romantic and gorgeous.”
Alesha chimed in next with what she thought about the emotional and powerful show.
“You make it look easy and I know it’s probably one of the most difficult things to do. You were so graceful, you did a great job.”
Of course, an audition wouldn’t complete without the opinion of the hard-to-please Simon Cowell.
“I thought it was great, great chemistry, fantastic song of course so it was really, really good,” he said.
Not only did they blow their audition out of the water, but they also received yeses from all four of the judges. It’s clear that their passion and drive finally paid off for the couple who had traveled so far to audition. And even though they made it to the next round, Dust in the Wind did not make it to the Semi-Finals. However, we’re confident that they will still go extremely far in their careers.
You’ll definitely want to watch their steamy, emotional, and passionate performance for yourself in the video below.
